🏡✨ Life Skills in Action! Our middle school ‘Life Skills’ class is bringing a modern twist to home economics! Wilson middle schoolers can choose ‘life skills’ as a new elective offered this year, taught by Mr. Grantham!
Students are building practical skills they can use for life—from budgeting and gardening to beginner cooking and sewing. Learning, creating, and becoming a little more independent along the way! Currently they are working on their gardening unit and are planting marigolds in class, and have taken over a portion of one bed in the campus garden and planting radishes outdoors. They also are using digital resources to create a ‘dream garden’ digitally. 🫜 🌱🍳🧵💰

We love to see our middle schoolers enjoy the garden creativity and fun!

Mrs. Baca’s Leadership students love spending Wednesdays with their First Grade buddies in Ms. Taylor McCain’s class. They worked on math together and shared lots of smiles. Mrs. Baca’s leadership class is an elective class for selected middle schoolers. Their class will also rotate as ‘buddies’ for a preschool class and an elementary cross-category class on Wednesdays, and they are excited to build positive relationships with our younger Wranglers!

And check out our Leadership Team proudly sporting their new shirts! They also have created ‘Future Leaders Magazine Covers’ which hang in our middle school hallway. We love the creativity!

Middle school families - yearbook photo retakes are this Thursday Sept 3rd on campus.
If your student didn’t take a yearbook photo before the 1st day of school, or didn’t like their photo, here is the chance for a photo be in the yearbook!
Elementary students will take photo retakes on a different date.

🌱 The Wilson Garden is growing and so are our gardeners!

Wilson teacher Mrs. Pakkala and friends have been working hard in the garden all summer, getting everything ready for our Wrangler gardeners. A special thank you to Mr. Pakkala and Principal Mr. Trimble for all their help with the irrigation and keeping this special space growing!

Now that school is back, the kids are digging in! 🌱👩‍🌾👨‍🌾 They’re getting hands-on with planting, growing, harvesting, composting and learning!

This garden is a PTO-funded project and was inspired by Mrs. Pakkala’s completion of the University of Arizona’s DIG in Schools program, where she became DIG certified through the Till, Sow, Grow & Reap stages.

We can’t wait to see what our Wranglers grow this year! 💚💙🌻 🌈
