Safe Family Justice Centers The SAFE Family Justice Centers are a safe place for victims of abuse in Riverside County to get help and safety services.

We are here to help victims find safety and figure out service options to help them move forward. SAFE Family Justice Center is a nonprofit serving Riverside County with center locations in Temecula, Murrieta, Riverside and Indio. We provide services to children and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, child and elder abuse. We also operate many youth violence prevention activities through our Temecula/Murrieta Police Activities League. We provide prevention and intervention services to enable children to grow in violence and abuse free homes. In 2019, Safe Alternatives for Everyone and Riverside County Family Justice Centers merged to become the SAFE Family Justice Centers of Riverside County.

Today, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors presented a proclamation officially recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

We are incredibly grateful for their continued support and commitment to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and helping break the cycle of abuse.

We also want to thank the many community partners who joined us today. Ending domestic violence takes all of us, and today’s gathering was a powerful reminder of the importance of collaboration in creating safer communities.

Want to turn awareness into action? Join SAFE FJC’s Fill the Gap monthly giving program and help ensure survivors and families have access to the critical resources, safety, and support they need to rebuild their lives. (https://www.safefjc.org/support/ways-to-give/)

Imagine wanting to leave an abusive relationship but having no access to money, no transportation, and nowhere safe to go.

For many survivors, financial abuse is one of the biggest barriers to escaping an abusive relationship. It can mean being prevented from working, having earnings taken away, losing access to bank accounts, or being forced into debt.

When someone controls your finances, they can also control your ability to leave.

At SAFE FJC, we believe financial barriers should never stand in the way of safety. Through emergency assistance, essential resources, and ongoing support, we help survivors take steps toward safety, stability, and independence.

You can help Keep the Light On.

Join our Fill the Gap monthly giving program and help ensure that when a survivor is ready to take that next step, support is within reach. Support today! https://secure.qgiv.com/for/keepthelighton-dfp/

Because everyone deserves a way out, even when they don't have the means.

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for SAFE Family Justice Centers’ Annual Meeting and PAL Awards! 💜

We gathered with staff, partners, supporters, and PAL families to reflect on the past year, celebrate progress, and share what comes next for the survivors, children, youth, and families we serve. We also had the honor of inducting Supervisor Chuck Washington into our Emeritus Board and celebrating the young people and officers recognized through PAL.

Behind every milestone are people working together to make safety and support easier to reach. We’re grateful to everyone who helps make that work possible.

Over the coming week, we’ll share highlights from the afternoon and the impact your support has made throughout the year. Thank you for being part of our SAFE FJC community.

“Just leave” can sound like a simple answer. For someone experiencing domestic violence, it can mean facing the very threats that have kept them there.

Leaving is often the most dangerous time. An abusive partner may escalate violence when they feel they are losing control. Threats against children, stalking, financial control, and nowhere safe to go can make the next step difficult—and dangerous.

We may not know everything a survivor is weighing. We can choose how we respond.

💜 “I believe you.”
💜 “This isn’t your fault.”
💜 “Would you like help finding support?”

Listen without judgment. Respect their decisions. Help them connect with an advocate who can explore options and plan for safety with them.

SAFE Family Justice Centers provides free support for survivors across Riverside County. You don’t have to know what comes next to reach out.

Know how to respond. Share where to find support.

Supporting a survivor doesn’t mean having all the answers. Sometimes, it simply means listening without judgment, respecting their decisions, reminding them that the abuse is never their fault, and making sure they know they are not alone.

For someone experiencing abuse, having a person they can trust and turn to can make all the difference.

At SAFE Family Justice Centers, we see every day how compassion, understanding, and access to support can help survivors take steps toward safety, healing, and rebuilding their lives. No one should have to face abuse alone, and no one should have to choose between their safety and having the resources they need.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, help us Keep the Light On for survivors and families in our community.

Share this message to remind others of the power of simply being there. And if you're looking for a way to make a lasting difference, consider joining Fill the Gap, our monthly giving program that helps ensure survivors have access to free, confidential services when they need them most.

Believe survivors. Stand beside them. Help keep the light on.

Children don’t have to be the direct targets of domestic violence to be affected by it.

Growing up in a home filled with fear, violence, or intimidation can leave lasting impacts on a child’s emotional well-being, relationships, and sense of safety. Even when children don’t experience abuse firsthand, witnessing it can shape how they see themselves and the world around them.

But those experiences do not have to define their future.

With the right support, children can heal, build resilience, and discover what healthy, loving relationships look like.

At SAFE FJC, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and free to simply be a child.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, help us Keep the Light On for children and families affected by violence. Join our Fill the Gap monthly giving campaign and help ensure families have access to the support they need to heal and move forward.
