Taylor Fire and Rescue (TFR) was recently awarded a $15,000 grant by the Northeast Pennsylvania Lions Service Foundation (NEPALSF), which in conjunction with additional grants awarded by the Lions Of Pennsylvania Foundation (LOPF) (Taylor Lions Club) and Taylor Recycling and Walmart, will be used for the purchase and equipping of an off-road utility vehicle (UTV) to perform rugged terrain search and rescue as well as fire suppression. We truly appreciate those who made this possible.

Members were out this evening doing a little bit of training. We reviewed equipment location on Rescue and Engine 95 with 2 new members, and then moved on to reviewing and stretching set back lines for fire attack.

Thursday evening, Rescue 95 was summoned by Taylor Police to assist in rescuing a kitten stuck inside a wall. The kitten somehow made its way inside a wall from the 1st floor apartment and was located stuck behind a shower wall in the 2nd floor bathroom. The kitten was successfully rescued and reunited with its family unharmed.
