Martin County has experienced hurricanes that have brought strong winds, heavy rainfall, flooding, and widespread impacts to our community. While every storm is different, each one reinforces the importance of being prepared before hurricane season reaches our doorstep.

Over the last ~150 years, there have been 61 events within 20 miles of Martin County with Francess and Jeanne being direct hits.

Recovery is one of the 4 phases of Emergency Management. During this phase, we focus on resorting, rebuilding, and revitalizing a community after a disaster; this includes community assistance, infrastructure, economy, natural and cultural resources, health and social services, and housing.
