Your 2026 Truth in Millage (TRIM) Notice was mailed on August 13th. If you disagree with your property’s market value or believe you are entitled to exemptions or classifications not reflected on your notice, please act now.

The Martin County Property Appraiser’s Office recommends taking these specific steps before the deadline:

• Review your TRIM Notice closely
• Contact our Office at 772-288-5608 with any concerns you may have

If, after speaking with our Office, you still disagree with your property’s market value or believe you are entitled to an exemption or classification, file a petition with the Martin County Value Adjustment Board by September 8, 2026.

Yesterday, Jenny Fields, presented at the Hobe Sound Public Library and today at the Hoke Library in Jensen Beach. With Notice of Proposed Property Taxes (TRIM Notices) landing in mailboxes this month, our goal is to ensure taxpayers understand their property details.

Missed the session? Here is what she covered:
• TRIM Notice – Deciphering your property tax breakdown line by line.
• Millage Rates – Understanding how tax rates affect your final bill.
• Exemptions – Homestead exemption qualifications, additional exemptions available, the Save Our Homes Benefit, and portability

The presentation was held at the Blake Library in Stuart and included information on TRIM Notices, new construction and development throughout Martin County, legislative updates, and real estate data from across the Treasure Coast.
