Another day, another violent incident on our roads.

The truth is that Baltimore County government has become too ineffective to solve even the most basic quality-of-life problems.

That changes on Day One.

Within my first six months as County Executive, we will implement a robust take-home vehicle program for eligible police officers. The county already owns vehicles that are sitting unused and deteriorating. We’ll work with community partners and local businesses to help get those vehicles road-ready and back into service where they belong.

The result? More police visibility. More patrol vehicles on our roads. More patrol vehicles in our neighborhoods. More deterrence. More peace of mind for law-abiding citizens.

In exchange, as part of their regular schedule, participating officers will commit to working two dedicated traffic-enforcement shifts each month focused on removing aggressive and dangerous drivers from our streets.

At the same time, I’ll work with the State’s Attorney’s Office to ensure that reckless driving, aggressive driving, and speeding more than 30 mph over the limit are treated with the seriousness they deserve. I’ll ask them to institute a “No Drop Policy” for crimes occurring on our roadways. No routine plea bargains. No automatic reductions. Real accountability.

For too long, we’ve accepted rising disorder as normal.

It isn’t.

We do not have to live this way.

And if I’m elected, we won’t.

Happy Juneteenth.

Today we celebrate the truth that while the arc of the moral universe may be long, it bends toward justice.

We are strongest when we judge one another by the content of our character rather than the labels, divisions, and differences that have too often been used to separate us.

Today we remember and honor a past marked by both extraordinary resilience and profound injustice. We recognize how far we have come while remaining committed to the work that still lies ahead.

And we look toward a future that can be as bright as we dare to imagine.

Be audacious. Be brave. Be hopeful.

Happy Juneteenth.

Tonight’s Facebook Live is postponed.

The team at Turnbull Brockmeyer Law Group is hosting a live conversation with Nick Stewart for Baltimore County, and I think it’s important that voters have the opportunity to hear from a candidate for County Executive in a forum where tough questions are asked.

The stakes for Baltimore County are too high for anything less.

I’ll be tuning in, and I hope you will too.

And please join me next week at 7:00 PM for our final Fireside Chat before Primary Day.

Choose wisely, friends. 🗳️

Yes, my odds in November may change depending on who Democrats nominate.

But I don’t spend much time thinking about that.

I want Baltimore County to have the best possible leaders.

I live here tooooo! 🙏

The establishment wants you to think the primary is the election.

It’s not.

It’s a gatekeeping contest.

The voters still get the final say in November.
