🚌 As School Bus Safety Week comes to an end, we want to thank our Satsuma City Schools bus drivers for their continued commitment to keeping our students safe. Your care, patience, and attention to safety make a difference every day.

As we begin Quarter 2, this is a great time for families to revisit these important bus stop safety reminders:

• Be ready and wait safely. Arrive at least five minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. Stay at least ten feet (five giant steps) from the curb, and remember that the bus stop is not a place to run or play.

• Wait for the driver’s signal. Before getting on or off, wait until the bus comes to a complete stop, the door opens, and the driver says it is safe. Always use the handrails.

• Cross with care. Never walk behind a school bus. If you must cross in front, move at least ten feet (five giant steps) ahead of the bus and make eye contact with the driver before crossing.

• Tell the driver if you drop something. Never try to retrieve a lunchbox, book, or other item near the bus. Let the driver know right away so they can help you safely.

Thank you to our drivers and families for working together to keep our Gators safe!🐊
