Congratulations to our very own junior anglers Kamden Coster and Gunner Jones! “The Saraland Middle School duo competed in eight Alabama Bass Federation tournaments this season and recorded second-place finishes at both the Tensaw River Delta Tournament and Pickwick Lake Tournament before EARNING Junior ANGLERS of the YEAR honors.” 🎣🥇

A successful season on the water is sending multiple members of the Saraland Fishing Team to national championship tournaments this summer.

🌾🍎 Learning Beyond the Classroom! 🚜📚
Saraland Middle School Family & Consumer Sciences teacher, Abby McGinnis, recently attended the Alabama Ag in the Classroom Summer Institute hosted by the Alabama Farmers Federation. Over three days, educators from across Alabama explored ways to incorporate agriculture into their classrooms through hands-on learning experiences, educational resources, and tours of local farms. Participants gained valuable tools to help students better understand where their food comes from and the important role agriculture plays in our daily lives. We are excited to see how these new ideas and resources will be incorporated into learning experiences for students!

We wish our Lady Spartans Varsity Softball Team the best of luck as they compete in the state tournament this week! A special congratulations goes out to SMS’s own Callie Jordan and Jaz Skanes.

Callie began the season playing first base and pitching for the SMS Lady Spartans, where she helped lead the team to a regional championship before joining the Varsity squad.

Jaz has been a starter on Varsity this season, hitting multiple home runs. She was also recognized by the Mobile Coaches Association and the Kiwanis Club as a member of the All-County Softball Team.

We are watching and hoping for a big win! Go SPARTANS!

Today is School Speech Pathologist Appreciation Day! Mrs. Lomax is a true difference-maker for some of our students! A speech pathologist helps students find their voice. They work with children on speech, language, communication, and even social skills so they can express themselves clearly and confidently in the classroom and beyond.

Mrs. Lomax does all of this and more, and she doesn’t just serve one school… she travels and supports multiple schools across our district, making an impact on so many students’ lives every single day. We are so thankful for her dedication, patience, and the way she helps our students grow and succeed. Thank you, Mrs. Lomax, for everything you do!

Yesterday was a day that our local children fighting cancer will never forget. ❤️🖤

Saraland Middle School National Junior Honor Society sponsor, Mrs. Smith, along with her student leaders, Mrs. Wakefield, and two lucky donors had the incredible opportunity to deliver OVER 300 boxes of LEGOs to the Women’s & Children’s Cancer Unit today in honor of Kaylee Rios and Kaylee’s Legocy.

Our school-wide Kaylee’s Legocy donation drive was a HUGE success, and it would not have been possible without the kindness, generosity, and selfless giving of our Saraland Spartan family. Because of YOU, children battling cancer will receive moments of joy, creativity, comfort, and hope… one brick at a time. 🧱💛

Thank you to every student, parent, teacher, and community member who donated and helped make a difference. We are so proud of what our Spartans accomplished together!
