Freedom 4 Youth's mission is to uplift and empower youth to build safe and compassionate communities.

Freedom 4 Youth 501(c)3 facilitates opportunities for expression and social-emotional learning through programs focused on: effective communication, education planning/job training, mentorship, and community integration. "Freedom4Youth has changed many young lives,
From those that are troubled, to those who live in lies. Criminal and gang activities was mostly all we could do,
We never found our innerselves until we joined Freedom 4 Youth. Our teachers our awesome, our students are great,
Whoever knew there would be so much love, and so little hate. We are all about saving the souls of troubled youth,
And introducing them to our growing Brother/Sisterhood. From cities and countries all around the world,
Just sit back, relax, and watch our family grow. We're located in so many hearts, and have been for years,
God bless Freedom4Youth, and everyone of our peers." -Manuel C.

Our 9th Annual Holiday Care Package Drive is here! 🩵❄️

We’re collecting donations now through November 13th, and we’d love your help bringing some extra joy to youth and families across Santa Barbara County this holiday season!

Each year, our community comes together to provide care packages for young people at Santa Maria Juvenile Hall and holiday gifts and essentials for youth and families impacted by the criminal legal system. More than just gifts, these packages are a reminder that our community cares about them and believes in their futures.

Want to get involved? Simply scan the QR code or click the link in our bio to shop our Amazon Wishlist, where you can purchase gifts that will be shipped directly to us to pass along. Whether you’re donating items or helping spread the word, your support makes this tradition possible. We’re so grateful to everyone who continues to show up for our youth year after year.

Want to support Freedom 4 Youth beyond the holidays? You can also make a monetary donation through the link in our bio to help sustain our work year-round.

Thank you for being part of this special tradition! 🩵

Something new is growing at Freedom 4 Youth! 🌱

This past Saturday, we gathered at Pilgrim Terrace to celebrate the launch of our new community garden project! It was a wonderful afternoon spent with youth, mentors, and community partners, sharing a delicious meal prepared by David Medina Events and getting to work turning the soil in our three new garden plots. We were grateful to have Michael from Michael Mcgee, Coach Albert from Warrior Soul Combat, and Chef David join us and share a little about the workforce and enrichment opportunities they’re helping create for our youth.

In partnership with Pilgrim Terrace, this project will introduce youth in our Culinary Arts Program to regenerative farming and sustainable gardening practices. With guidance from Pilgrim Terrace staff, youth will learn how to grow and maintain their own crops, eventually harvesting fresh ingredients to use in the kitchen. Rather than simply cooking with what’s available, they’ll have the opportunity to help decide what to grow and shape the meals they prepare.

Beyond learning new skills, this initiative will explore how participating in the full food cycle can strengthen young people’s sense of ownership within the culinary program and deepen their connection to food and the community around them. It’s an exciting opportunity to expand our programming through hands-on learning.

Thank you to Pilgrim Terrace for welcoming us and to everyone who joined us on Saturday. We’re looking forward to growing this project together! 🌿

What a beautiful day at Bread & Roses! 🌹🥖

We were so grateful to be back at The Fund for Santa Barbara’s annual Bread & Roses Community Celebration, gathering alongside so many incredible organizations and community members working toward a more just and connected Central Coast.

It was especially meaningful to return this year with a new chapter of our Culinary Arts program underway. Under the leadership of our Head Chef, Chef David Medina of David Medina Events, several of our spring Culinary Arts graduates joined us at Bread & Roses to put what they learned into practice, preparing and serving food for hundreds of community members. 💛

We’re so grateful to the Fund for Santa Barbara for continuing to create a space rooted in community, dignity, and collective power, and to everyone who stopped by our booth and shared in the day with us. We had an amazing time and are excited for all that’s ahead for Culinary Arts at F4Y!

A day spent learning about and connecting with local history! 🌿☀️

This past week, we visited the Chumash Museum for a powerful day of learning on native grounds. Through its thoughtfully curated exhibits and native plant trails, the museum is creating a welcoming space where people of all ages can honor Indigenous heritage and understand our shared environment.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from organizations that help preserve Indigenous heritage and create spaces where our community can better understand the place we all call home.

Last week, we had the amazing opportunity to visit the for an afternoon of learning and exploration of the natural world. We loved getting to experience the touch tanks, walk along the beach and bluffs, and learn more about the incredible marine life and ecosystems right here in our community 🐠🪸

Thank you to the REEF team for welcoming us into such a beautiful space and helping create a memorable experience. We are so grateful for community partners who make opportunities like this possible!

After getting to showcase their skills to their friends and families the week before, our Spring Culinary Cohort was excited to open up the kitchen to community partners and supporters for a special Community Dinner 🍽️

It was a meaningful evening filled with great food and conversation. Our youth put so much care into every part of the experience, and it was incredibly special to gather together with the people and organizations who continue to invest in and believe in them.

We’re so grateful for the community that surrounds this program and helps make opportunities like this possible. ❤️
