On June 27th, 2026, Sea Rim State Park is hosting a Kid Fish event. We are at maximum capacity for this event so no walk-ins will be allowed. We are expecting this registration only event to take up the majority of the park's space.

The event itself will be mostly held on our Central Beach, but other parts of the park will be affected.

Cool beachcombing alert! You might have seen photos from the ( ) talking about sea pigs! No, these are not a new type of fish found in the sea but plastic piggy banks! These two were found by our park host Deb on Central Beach a couple Saturday ago! You never know what you will find when you walk the beach!

New monofilament recycling tube alert! We recently installed a new monofilament tube on our West Beach entrance. If you are walking on the beach or fishing on the surf and you find/use a fishing line 🎣 on the beach, this is the place to recycle it! But why is this important?
Monofilament, or “mono” for short, is a single strand of material that is made of a strong, flexible plastic that is clear or tinted many colors. It is one of the most popular types of fishing line used today.

If you’ve gone fishing, you know that this type of line gets tangled very quickly. It gets caught on rocks, coral reefs, oil rigs, anything solid! They also get wrapped around the limbs of animals, especially sea turtles, dolphins, sharks🦈, 🐟 , and many more. When wrapped around the limbs, it only starts to cut the limb.
