Due to incoming tropical disturbances, Sea Rim State Park will be closed. Visitors may experience stronger-than-usual winds and elevated storm surges that impacts low-lying areas and campgrounds. Camper and guests, please stay safe out here.

🚫No ash-producing fires such charcoal or firewood are allowed including on the beach

🚫No alternative fueled fires are allowed, indluding propane and gas

🚫 Cease all outside burnings

Ranger Laura was taking a walk on the Gambusia Nature Boardwalk Trail last week and found these muddy tracks on the boardwalk!

But who do they belong to?
These most likely come from one of our larger marsh birds like our Great Blue Heron or our Great Egrets! They like to perch or rest on our boardwalk taking in the sun.

The Saltmarsh Mallow also known as the Virginia saltmarsh mallow is a shrub-like wildflower with showy pink blooms. It occurs naturally in salt and freshwater marshes, swamps, sloughs, coastal swales and wet thickets throughout much of the Texas Coastline. It blooms spring through fall, peaking in summer and attracting butterflies, hummingbirds and ants.
