Sabine Pass Battleground will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The site will reopen on Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Finally made the time to load some pictures from Saturday's Special Olympics Texas - East Region Fishing event.

The event was held at the Battlegrounds but was organized by Kristen Basel the Community Outreach & Program Director for Special Olympics Texas - East Region.

There were 38 participants and family members, 43 Volunteers, and 58 visitors that came to the site that day. There are plans to host the event again next year.

All attending had a good time, and fish were caught.

The full schedule includes over 100 expert speakers from across Texas and the U.S., more than 50 sessions, workshops, tours, and fun and exciting activities. Whether joining us online or in person, sessions will be recorded and available to all attendees.

Come join us at Sabine Pass Battleground SHS this Thursday for the last day of flounder fishing in Texas before the season closes for six weeks.

You cannot keep any flounder from November 1st through December 14th.
