Thank you to Martha for bringing an ofrenda to the Library and sharing this beautiful tradition with our community!

An ofrenda, meaning “offering” in Spanish, is an altar built to honor and remember loved ones who have passed during Dia de Mu***os. Traditionally, ofrendas include photographs, flowers, favorite foods, and meaningful objects that celebrate their lives and keep their memories close.

We invite you to add to the Library’s ofrenda. If you’d like, bring a photograph or small memento in remembrance of someone special. Together, we can create a space for sharing memories and connecting with one another.

Welcome to our newest Kid Librarian, Sam!

Sam had a busy day at the library. He checked in books, reshelved, helped patrons find their favorite series, and even created a special book display! We love seeing young readers take an active role in our library and sharing their love of books and reading with others.

Thanks for all your hard work, Sam!

Sam's display will be up for the next two weeks, so be sure to come check out some of his favorite books! Do you want to be our next Kid Librarian? Come sign at the Children's Desk today!

We also got to learn some fun facts about our library friends, like Olive's favorite place to read books is at the Red Hook Library. And Owen's perfect reading companion/pet would be a pelican!
