At WCHS we value the human-animal bond, provide stewardship for homeless pets, and promote compassionate treatment of all companion animals. Because we are here to support our community and focus on helping pets and their people, our primary goal when a stray animal enters our care is always to reunite them with their families. Accidents happen to even the most loving owners, and a lost pet is not necessarily a neglected or abandoned pet.
To ensure our platform remains a supportive space, we kindly ask that community members refrain from making negative, speculative, or shaming comments on our posts. Moving forward, unhelpful or judgmental comments will be removed so we can maintain our focus entirely on getting these pets back home or gathering information.
We are always completely open to gathering helpful information about the animals in our care. However, any specific concerns regarding potential animal abuse or abandonment are always best sent privately to our team via direct message or email. This allows us to handle the situation discreetly and pass the details along to the proper authorities to investigate if needed, rather than causing unnecessary speculation in a public comment section.
While we very much appreciate that many of you are eager to adopt, our stray intake posts are strictly for finding owners. Animals are not available for adoption during their mandatory stray hold period. Once that hold has concluded, and after the animals have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and deemed healthy enough for placement, they will be officially listed on our website for adoption.
