We are hosting our Volunteer Hotline Training this fall, and we’re looking for compassionate community members ready to create positive change. When disaster hits, survivors need us most.💜
The Spokane Complex fires have devastated our community. More than 700 structures destroyed. 65,000 people evacuated. Entire neighborhoods gone in hours.

For most people, this is a housing crisis. For survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, it is something more, a safety crisis layered on top of trauma they were already carrying.

Some of MiA's own participants were directly impacted by the fires, forced to evacuate with nowhere to go. They came to us, as they always do, and we showed up. We have been helping them find emergency housing, covering hotel costs, and sitting with them through a disaster that arrived on top of wounds that hadn't yet healed. ❤️‍🩹

But our emergency funds are limited. And the need is urgent.

This campaign raises $10,000 to cover emergency hotel stays and housing costs for DV and SA survivors displaced by the Spokane fires, keeping them safe, housed, and connected to MiA's advocates and mental health support while they figure out what comes next.

Every dollar goes directly to survivors. No bureaucracy. No waiting. Just MiA showing up.

Minority Mental Health Awareness Month highlights the unique mental health struggles of the BIPOC community.

Too often, judgment and silence keep people from reaching out but together, we can change that. Start the dialogue, offer support, and show kindness. Every action, no matter how small, helps create a more understanding and inclusive world.
