As kicks off, commentary from RI Food Bank CEO Melissa Cherney was published in Rhode Island Current: where she reflects on similarities and differences between her home state of North Dakota, and what it means to activate communities around the issue of hunger.

"As Hunger Action Month begins, and I just wrapped up my first year leading an extraordinary team at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, it's not the differences that stand out. It's a universal truth for hunger relief advocates from Fargo to Foster: Hunger is something you experience; it's not who you are." 💬

Our team received a visit from some friends from up north last week: staff from the New Hampshire Food Bank! 🍁⛰️

While both of our states are idyllic New England destinations, when it comes to food insecurity, neither state is exempt, and both have unique sets of challenges and opportunities. After a tour of our facilities, New Hampshire Food Bank staff met with their 'counterparts' who work an adjacent role at the RI Food Bank and exchanged insights into their work.

Thanks for coming to visit, NHFB team!
