To see an unsung hero of our Chamber, we salute our Member of the Day: Jean Metcalfe Frankovitch, Retired Board Secretary, Board Member, and Staff Member. Please join the Chamber as we applaud Jean for over seven years of service on our Pittsburg - Camp Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and staff.

Even though she retired from official Chamber service in September, Jean agreed to volunteer at our Paint Pitt Pink last week (see photograph) and has signed up to volunteer at Home for the Holidays on December 5, 2026. Jean is a Rock Star!

We are confident Jean learned her compassion, spunky personality, and strong work ethic as the eldest of three daughters in New Jersey, wife to her husband, Steve Frankovitch, for 43 years, and partner in their Arizona excavation company for over 30 years. Jean wore all hats in the business as the full-time accountant, part-time truck driver, fill-in parts runner, and flashlight holder whenever Steve hollered.

To know Jean is to understand that she'd never sit still. She later retired from the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles and went back to photography school. Her commercial studio operated successfully in Arizona until she relocated to Texas in 2013 to be near her daughter and son-in-law.

Arizona's loss is our gain. Since relocating, Jean has given her time to our Chamber, the Museum, and the Pittsburg Lions Club. Jean loves animals, 50's music, cooking, traveling, and her community. Thank you, Jean, for everything you have done and will continue to do for our Chamber, Pittsburg, and Camp County!

🚒❤️ HELP OUR FIREFIGHTERS — WIN A 2025 TOP HAT UTILITY TRAILER! ❤️🚒

Recent fires have taken a toll on essential firefighting equipment. Now, this equipment must be replaced to help protect our brave firefighters and ensure they are prepared to respond to future emergencies.

Thanks to the generosity of a caring Pittsburg business owner, the Chamber is honored to help host a special benefit drawing for a 2025 Top Hat Utility Trailer.

100% OF EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR RAFFLE TICKET goes directly to the Pittsburg Fire Department for this needed equipment.
🎟️ Tickets are just $20 each or 6 for $100.

TWO EASY WAYS TO PURCHASE:
📍 In Person: Pittsburg-Camp County Chamber of Commerce at 202 Jefferson Street, LalaPop's at 102 Jefferson Street, and Southern Blossom Bowtique at 104 Jefferson Street.

The Abernathy House is a lovely Queen Ann Victorian home constructed in 1896 as a family residence. The home was built by George Barber for D.H. Abernathy, a prominent dry goods merchant. His wife, Mary Lou Pitts Abernathy, was the niece of Major W.H. Pitts, the original founder of Pittsburg.

Today, The Abernathy House brings elegance and excellence to our community as an event venue and host of seasonal celebrations. Welcoming community members and visitors, they celebrate private events, rehearsal dinners, showers, family reunions, and life milestones.
