On the ground at 25th & Lehigh

I visited Quality Care Health Center (QCHC) alongside Rennie Parker from the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood & Community Action, Ernest Gardner Community Affairs Liaison for Councilwoman At-Large Katherine Gilmore Richardson, and Melissa Williams Director of the Mayor’s Business Action Team, to hear directly from the community about the needs, concerns, and opportunities in the neighborhood.

From youth to seniors, the focus remains on making sure residents feel seen, supported, and connected to resources that help the community thrive.

This week, I was fortunate to be part of a discussion with the Philadelphia House Delegation and Congressman Brendan Boyle. We talked a lot about how the budget cuts for health and human services out of DC are going to affect you soon, if they haven’t already. Thousands of Philadelphians stand to lose their healthcare by the end of the year – many already have been cut off from Medicaid and Medicare coverage.
We're working on solutions and fighting for you at the state & federal levels, but for the immediate future you can get coverage through Pennsylvania’s official health insurance marketplace, Pennie.

My bill to require condo landlords to define parking availability & fees to tenants passed the Housing Committee! This would help open up more street parking for folks who really need it - folks without off-street parking options.
