As elected officials, we should be working in the best interests of our constituents and not taking advantage of our powers for personal gain. On Wednesday, my bill to prevent crypto corruption by elected officials passed out of the State Government Committee along a party line vote. This is the first bill like this in the country. In the age of crypto, we need more anti-corruption laws.

For over 30 years, Philadelphia FIGHT has played an important role improving holistic health outcomes for people living with HIV, accessing mental health resources, understanding cure research, and eliminating stigma. Yesterday, we met at my office in Harrisburg during their advocacy day to discuss ways they are working to make sure folks in their community continue to have access to these vital healthcare services.

Jose Giral to prohibit non-compete agreements for broadcast workers passed out of the Labor & Industry Committee, and we're hopeful to see it come to a floor vote in the .

There are lots of nonprofits in need of support to continue making positive impact. Yesterday, my bill to establish a sales tax exemption for charities passed unanimously out of the . Thank you to my colleagues on both sides of the aisle. I'm hopeful that our Senate counterparts can get it across the finish line for Governor Josh Shapiro to sign into law.

I'm honored to represent Philadelphia’s Gayborhood, a nationally recognized hub of LGBTQ+ culture, history, and resilience, and this month we will continue to celebrate that history and the individuals who make our city stronger.

Pennsylvania is in desperate need of prison reform. Today, I attended a press conference to raise awareness for Rep. Tim Briggs's bill, which I am a co-sponsor of, that would change the sentencing requirements for people convicted of 2nd degree murder. Everyone deserves a chance at redemption.

June is the busiest time of year in Harrisburg. It's budget season, and lots of organizations are coming to the capitol to advocate for funding, policy changes, and more. This week, I met with folks from the The Salvation Army Greater Philadelphia,
CeaseFirePA, and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network Pennsylvania - ACS CAN. I'm always happy to listen the people who are raising awareness for their causes.

It's important to nurture the next generation of civic leaders. Last month, I visited the Academy at Palumbo to meet with students working on a project about underfunded Philly schools. Yesterday, those students visited my district office to interact with staff and learn about their jobs. I'm always happy to see young people encouraged and excited about making our city a better place.
