Chief Reid was honored to speak at the 2026 Bridge Program Graduation Ceremony hosted by Springville Fire and Rescue this past week. The Bridge Program provides certified volunteer firefighters with an opportunity to transition their training and experience into the paid fire service.

Congratulations to this year's graduates as they take the next step in their firefighting careers and continue their commitment to serving their communities.

This month our crews focused on Estate Lay training. This is a valuable skill set to sharpen. Estate lays can get complicated quickly, especially when you’re dealing with larger properties, long driveways, multiple structures, or limited water supply.

This is a special week at the Pelham Fire Department. This week, we honor those who are always heard but rarely seen. The calm voice on the other end of the line. The ones who always answer in your time of need. Our 911 dispatchers.

The 2nd week of April each year is dedicated to these hard working individuals. Just like other first responders, they work overtime, ensuring the safety of the citizens & visitors of Pelham. The sacrifices they make do not go unnoticed. They work around the clock, weekends, holidays, day, and night. They're always ready.

Please help us wish them a great Public Safety Telecommunicators Appreciation Week! Leave a comment below or drop a card by the police department to let them know how much they are appreciated!

We love our dispatchers!

Happy Public Safety Telecommuncators Appreciation Week!

Heads up!

A prescribed burn is planned for Thursday, April 9, weather permitting. This work will take place in the Northeast section of the park, at Lunker Lake Dam, the pollinator garden, and within the campground unit, to reduce wildfire risk and improve natural habitats.

To ensure the safety of both visitors and staff, the following trails will be temporarily closed during the burn (Please see the map in comments for exact locations):

The Light Trail
Mountain Lakes Trail
Pollinator Garden Trail
BLT Connector

Please respect all closures and posted signage.
Visitors may notice smoke in the area, especially near the campground.

Conditions will be closely monitored, and every effort will be made to manage smoke and complete the burn safely.

This burn will be conducted by park staff, with assistance from our partners at The Nature Conservancy.
