Update.

THE BOIL WATER ADVISORY IS OFFICIALLY LIFTED EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
On September 3, 2026, a Boil Water Order was issued due by DNR to the City of Peculiar water residents and businesses. Water samples collected from the affected areas have been analyzed by certified laboratories, and test results confirm that the water meets all EPA and state drinking water standards. It is no longer necessary to boil tap water before drinking, cooking, or using it for human consumption.
-Run cold water faucets for 3 to 5 minutes just to clear water from drinking faucets if you have not been running them.

Last night’s Chamber Mixer was quite literally in full bloom!

A heartfelt thank you to Triple S Homestead for welcoming us into their beautiful flower fields and creating such a lovely setting for our members to connect, visit, and enjoy the evening together.

You may also notice their beautiful new sign in the photos. Triple S Homestead used funds from the Peculiar Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business Grant Program to help make it possible! Seeing that grant turned into something tangible that will welcome visitors for years to come is exactly why supporting our local businesses matters.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so special. This is what community, connection, and growing together look like! 💐

One of our favorite parts of this program is seeing how each business chooses to put the funding to use. Blue Collar Mortgage used its grant to help with its Grand Opening Party, and the event became much more than simply celebrating a new business.

It gave the Blue Collar Mortgage team a chance to thank the community for welcoming and supporting them while also introducing more people to who they are and how they can help families right here in Peculiar.

This is exactly what we hope these grants will do: help our members turn a good idea into something that brings them closer to the community they serve.

We are glad the Chamber could play a small part in their celebration, and we look forward to watching Blue Collar Mortgage continue to grow!

Small Business Grant Update: Sutter’s Creek Garden

We recently checked in with Glenda at Sutter’s Creek Garden in Peculiar to see how plans are coming along for their Chamber grant funds.

With a busy growing season and plenty of unpredictable weather, the gardens have kept everyone busy! Now that things are beginning to slow down, Glenda and her team are turning their attention back to their grant projects.

Their new banner has been purchased, and they are currently planning several marketing items, including a sponsor recognition board, brochures, logo T-shirts, and a display board for gardening photos.

They are also exploring educational items that will give children even more opportunities to learn and participate in the garden. Plans include child-sized wheelbarrows and a wagon, gardening hand tools, magnifying glasses, butterfly kits, worm farms, bug kits, and an outdoor blackboard that can be used as an outdoor classroom.

Sutter’s Creek Garden’s goal is to have everything purchased and completed by the end of the year. They are taking the time to choose items that will be useful, educational, and long-lasting for the children and the garden.

Thank you, Glenda, for sharing this wonderful update! We are excited to watch these ideas grow and see how they benefit the children in our community.
