Community Development Partnership We create opportunities for people to live, work and thrive on the Lower Cape.

The Community Development Partnership leads the Lower Cape in building a diverse year-round community of people who can afford to live, work and thrive here. To accomplish our mission, we promote, develop and manage affordable housing; nurture the launch and growth of small businesses; and facilitate collaboration with business, non-profit, and government partners. Since its inception in 1992, the CDP has become a leader in developing and delivering innovative programs that foster an economically and environmentally sustainable Lower Cape Cod community. As a community development corporation, we value economic, racial & ethnic diversity and foster a sense of inclusion and participation of local area residents, business owners, and leaders. Throughout our thirty-year history, the CDP has continued to adapt to the ever-shifting economic and demographic landscape of our area while maintaining our commitment to strengthening and expanding the building blocks of a vibrant local economy. The CDP is a steward for critical community resources such as stable and affordable rental housing for low-and-moderate-income residents, micro-loan funds that help unleash the entrepreneurial spirit in the region, and fishing quota that has preserved our small-scale fishing fleet.

10 Years of Progress. Collaboration. Possibility.

For a decade, the Lower Cape Housing Institute (LCHI) has brought together municipal leaders, community advocates, and local partners to advance housing solutions across the Lower and Outer Cape.

As we celebrate 10 years, we're reflecting on how far we've come, the challenges that remain, and the opportunities ahead.

This year's program builds on that momentum with more in-person collaboration, stronger connections between housing and economic development, and new opportunities for community engagement.

đź“… Join us for our first workshop!

10 Years of the LCHI: Then, Now, and Beyond

Find the details and registration on the events page on our website.

Together, we'll look back at a decade of progress, explore today's housing challenges, and discuss what's possible for the future of our communities.

🎓 Celebrating New Beginnings and Big Dreams!

The excitement and pride filled the room as we celebrated 15 graduates of our HomeGrown Care program, a partnership between the Community Development Partnership (CDP) and Clarendon Early Education Services, Inc., A Child Care and Nutrition Agency!

These inspiring entrepreneurs are taking an important step toward opening their own home-based childcare businesses, creating new opportunities for themselves while helping address the critical need for childcare in our communities.

An inspiring quote from the evening,

“The program helped us transform an idea into a business, but it also helped us turn a dream into a purpose.”

This pilot program is about more than starting businesses. It’s about building confidence, creating economic opportunity, supporting working families, and strengthening our communities.

We were honored to celebrate alongside Margaret McDonald of Clarendon Early Education Services and Commissioner Amy Kershaw of the Massachusetts department of early education and care.

Congratulations to our graduates! Your determination, hard work, and commitment to caring for our youngest community members are helping shape a stronger future for Cape Cod. đź’™

The path to a stronger, healthier community starts with your voice.

On the Lower and Outer Cape, we know that thriving communities depend on more than just one thing. Access to year-round housing, economic opportunity, healthcare, transportation, and essential services all play a role in our well-being.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health's Community Health Equity Survey is an opportunity to share your experiences, challenges, and priorities—and help shape a clearer picture of what our communities need to thrive.

From Eastham to Provincetown, every voice matters.

Help pave the way for a stronger Outer Cape.

Take the survey: https://www.mass.gov/HealthSurvey

Open to Massachusetts residents ages 12 and older through November 2026.

Please share with your friends, neighbors, and community networks!

Back to business and back to connecting! 🎉

What a great evening at the CCYP’s Annual Back to Business Bash! From the incredible space at Cape Cod Community College to the delicious bites, beverages, swag, and fun, it was the perfect way to reconnect after a busy summer season.

We loved catching up with familiar faces, meeting new people, and sharing more about CDP’s programs and the ways we support housing, small businesses, and year-round communities across the Lower and Outer Cape.

CCYP knows how to bring people together! Events like these remind us just how valuable it is to connect, collaborate, and celebrate the people and organizations doing great things across Cape Cod.

Thanks to CCYP for another fantastic event! đź’™

46 Homes. One Growing Community. 🏡

The Residences at Lawrence Hill in Wellfleet are more than just affordable housing. They're helping build a stronger, more vibrant year-round community on the Outer Cape.

And the numbers tell an important story.

🏡 46 affordable homes, all occupied
👥 91 residents, including 37 children
📍 76% previously lived on Cape Cod
❤️ 50% previously lived on the Outer Cape
📚 11 children now attend Wellfleet Elementary, including 8 new students this year

These numbers represent something bigger: families putting down roots, neighbors staying in the communities they love, children filling local classrooms, and a stronger year-round future for the Outer Cape.

This is what happens when we invest in housing that meets the needs of our communities.

The The Provincetown Independent recently shared a closer look at the people and stories behind Lawrence Hill. We encourage you to read the article and see the impact of these homes firsthand.

A great afternoon celebrating the ribbon cutting at Putnam Farms in Orleans! 🌱 (photos from Town of Orleans, MA)

It was inspiring to hear the vision behind this project and what it means for our region. Inspiring words were shared by the local Orleans Select Board, and state leaders including Ashley Randle Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources, State Representative Hadley Luddy, Lower Cape Outreach Council CEO, Katherine Wibby, community friends & partners and one of the farmers who will be working the shared land.

One message came through loud and clear: Putnam Farm is a model for how communities can come together to address food insecurity, support local agriculture, and create lasting opportunities for our neighbors.

Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this vision to life! We're excited to see the impact this project will have on Orleans, the Lower Cape, and beyond.
