Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, Orleans paused for a moment of remembrance as the flag was lowered to half-staff.

We remember all those who lost their lives that day - and the first responders who ran toward danger to help others. That same courage lives on in the men and women who serve Orleans every day, ready to answer the call.

25 Years Later — We Remember

Twenty-five years later, the events of September 11, 2001 remain a part of our nation’s history and our collective memory.

Here in Orleans, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the families and communities forever changed that day.

We honor their sacrifice and remember the courage, unity, and compassion that followed.

From our Orleans community to all those who were affected — we remember, we honor, and we will never forget.
