The proposed budget hit mailboxes less than one week before taxpayers are expected to vote on it at the Financial Town Meeting.
If residents are required to plan ahead and submit motions weeks in advance if the resolution or H8546 is approved, the Town Council should be held to the same standard when it comes to providing financial information to the public.

PROPOSED BUDGET PRESENTATION: The Scituate Democratic Town Committee has put together this informational slide show as a resource for taxpayers - this is a general breakdown of the proposed fiscal year 2026/2027 budget.
While we attempted to capture the major components of this year's proposed spending plan, we STRONGLY encourage taxpayers to take the time to visit the town's website to review documents, presentations and spreadsheets relevant to the upcoming budget. You're also encouraged to each out to the town council and school committee members for clarification so you're prepared to participate in the Financial Town Meeting next Tuesday, June 2nd at 7PM.
