Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company, Preschool Visit Highlight — Today we’re proud to share a special moment from one of our volunteer members, Anthony, who recently visited a local preschool to help young learners understand what firefighters look like and how they help during emergencies.

Anthony suited up in full turnout gear and SCBA, showing the children each piece step‑by‑step so they could see that even though firefighters may look different during an emergency, they are friendly helpers who keep everyone safe. This simple demonstration goes a long way in reducing fear and building trust.

During his visit, Anthony taught several age‑appropriate fire‑safety lessons that preschoolers can remember and use such as Firefighters Are Helpers — Children learned that firefighters are safe, friendly community helpers who come when someone needs help.
And Never Hide From Firefighters — Anthony explained that even if gear looks scary, big, or loud, firefighters are always there to help.

Visits like this help children feel confident, prepared, and connected to the volunteers who serve their community. Thank you, Anthony, for representing Foster Center Fire Company with professionalism, kindness, and dedication.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our own! 🎉❤️🚒 Please join us in congratulating Probationary Firefighter and NREMT, Joe Clevenger on being awarded a scholarship from the Colaluca Family Campground!
Joe will use this scholarship to continue his education as he begins nursing school this fall. 🩺🎓

In his acceptance speech, Joe shared that the Colaluca Family Campground has been part of his life for 11 years and has become a second family to him.
He also shared his incredible personal journey, including undergoing his fourth open-heart surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital, and how his recovery helped inspire his decision to pursue a career in medicine.

Joe also took the time to thank those who have supported him along the way, including:
“My Chief, Jason DiCarlo, President Deb DiCarlo, and my Station 3 family for their support and assistance in teaching me how to serve the public the same way responders have helped me in the past.”
That one meant a lot to us, Joe. ❤️

Joe has already earned his EMT certification and joined the Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company as a Probationary Firefighter while continuing his education. He is also an American Heart Association, Teen of Impact.
His story is one of perseverance, determination, service, and a desire to give back.

We could not be more proud of you, Joe, and we are honored that you chose the Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company as part of your journey. Congratulations on this wonderful and well-deserved scholarship, and best of luck as you begin nursing school! Your future is bright, and we cannot wait to see where this journey takes you. 🚒🩺🎓❤️

💛 FOSTER, CHECK ON OUR PEOPLE. 💛
September is National Su***de Prevention Month.

In a small rural town like Foster, we look out for each other. We wave from our trucks, see familiar faces around town & at events, and show up when our neighbors need us.

But sometimes, the person who looks like they’re doing just fine may be struggling behind the scenes.
Make the call. Knock on the door. Ask, “Are you okay?” And really listen.
You don't need the perfect words. You just need to be there.

🚒 At Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company, protecting our community means more than answering the tones. It means looking out for our people.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 anytime.

💛 Foster, let's take care of our own.
You matter. Your neighbor matters.

— Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company, protecting the heart ♡ of Foster!
