The Scituate Police Department is proud to participate in a statewide initiative honoring Officer Ryan Bourque, who was tragically struck and killed by an impaired driver on May 23, 2016.

This May, SPD patrol cruisers will display memorial ribbon decals in remembrance of Officer Bourque. Ten years later, his service and sacrifice continue to be remembered across Rhode Island’s law enforcement community.

We join our brothers and sisters of the Jamestown RI Police Department in honoring Officer Bourque’s legacy and reminding everyone to make safe and responsible choices. Plan ahead, drive sober, or get a sober ride home.

Join the Scituate Police Department and the US Department Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for the nationwide Click it or Ticket high-visibility seat belt enforcement campaign and help us urge everyone to buckle up when they are in the car.

🚗💨 Whether you’re driving across town or heading out on a long trip, buckling up is one of the safest decisions both drivers and passengers can make.

🚔 🚨Over the next few weeks, motorists can expect to see additional patrols on the roadways as part of the nationwide Click It or Ticket campaign.

📍From May 11 - May 31, this enforcement initiative aims to remind everyone about the importance of seat belt use and the consequences of not wearing one.
