🎃👻 We had a frightfully fun Friday as we celebrated Halloween a little early! Our students showed off their creative costumes, our teachers were all tatted up thanks to our “Tat the Teacher” fundraiser, and our day was filled with plenty of Halloween fun and activities! 🕷️🦇🎃

From silly costumes to spooky smiles, our Owls had a BOO-tiful time making memories together! 👻

We hope all of our Balls Creek families have a safe and Happy Halloween! 🎃🧡🖤

🎉 Please join us in celebrating Melissa Coffey, a Catawba County Schools Lighting the Way Award recipient! She was one of two recipients honored by the district’s Exceptional Children’s Department in October.

Ms. Coffey was honored for her love of students and her willingness to lend a helping hand wherever she is needed. Whether she is supporting students around the school or on the bus, Ms. Coffey helps keep things moving smoothly with care, kindness, and a positive attitude.

Her flexibility, teamwork, and dedication make a difference every day. We are grateful for the many ways she supports our students and staff!

PTO is currently seeking local businesses and individuals to contribute to our 2026- 2027 school year as a Sponsor. Your partnership will help us meet our fundraising goals to ensure that our students and teachers have a great year! 🦉🌟

This year, we will continue raising funds to purchase a NEW PLAYGROUND, which will ensure every student has access to safe and fun playground equipment for several generations. Our PTO also provides support to students and staff throughout the school year through items like: funding for educational expenditures (instructional material and operational equipment), field trip t-shirts, school supplies, field trip scholarships, and special treats for teachers and students. 🛝🍎💻👕

All Sponsors will be showcased throughout the year as special events like the Fall Festival, social media posts, marketing collateral, and more.

The Balls Creek community consists of families from Newton, Conover, Catawba, and Denver. It is our goal to work with local businesses and individuals such as YOU to support our teachers and children.

💍💌 Q & U: A Perfect Match! 💚💛🦉

Wedding bells were ringing in first grade on Friday! 💒✨ Ms. Caldwell’s and Mrs. Anderson’s classes came together to celebrate the Wedding of Q and U because these two letters are almost always together in words! 💕🔤

After the ceremony, students signed a special wedding card and enjoyed a delicious reception snack! 🍪🥳

What a fun and memorable way to learn about letter combinations! In first grade, learning is always an adventure—even when it calls for a little wedding celebration! 💍📚💚💛

During Unity Week, our Balls Creek Owls made a special promise to choose kindness, stand up for others, and help make our school a place where everyone belongs! 💚

Students signed a kindness pledge, and together, we linked those pledges to create a kindness chain! 🔗🦉 Each link represents a promise to make a difference through kind words, thoughtful actions, and standing up against bullying.

Our chain is a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a BIG impact when we all work together! 💚💛

Our Owls wrapped up Unity Week with Team Day, showing that when we work together, we can make a BIG difference! 💪🏈⚽🏀 We loved seeing everyone represent their favorite teams while standing united against bullying.

Although Unity Week has come to an end, kindness doesn’t stop here! 💚 We will continue to spread positivity, include others, and stand up for one another! Kindness always wins!

Today, our Owls wore ORANGE to show that we stand together in unity against bullying! 🧡💪 We’re proud to see our students spreading kindness, choosing compassion, and learning that we all have a part to play in making sure everyone feels safe, included, and valued. ⭐️

🧦 Tomorrow, we’re going to SOCK IT TO BULLYING! 🧦🎉 It’s Crazy Sock Day! Pull out those wild, wacky, and mismatched socks as we take a stand against bullying one step at a time! 🧦💚💛
