Meet our new intern, Mario!

Originally from Germany and raised in Austria, Mario recently completed his studies in business and is excited to spend the coming months in New York gaining first-hand experience in diplomatic and consular affairs. As an Austrian and U.S. dual citizen, he is particularly interested in the close relationship and cooperation between the two countries.

We are happy to have him on board and wish him a great start in New York!🗽

💫 70th Viennese Opera Ball New York 🇦🇹

We were proud to host a reception for the Inauguration of the Debutantes and Escorts of the 70th Viennese Opera Ball New York last week! ✨

The evening included a mesmerizing opera performance 🎼, followed by the official inauguration presented by the Austrian Ambassador to the USA, Petra Schneebauer, welcoming this year’s debutantes and escorts. The reception celebrated the spirit of the Viennese Opera Ball New York as a timeless symbol of Austrian tradition and culture in the heart of New York! 🎻🥂

A special thank you to the organizers of the Viennese Opera Ball New York, especially President & Executive Director Silvia Frieser, for the excellent collaboration and for making this beloved tradition possible year after year. 💫

Our play dates are a wonderful opportunity for interested families to meet other GSM and future GSM families and have their kids experience our school first hand. 100+ Alumni. 8 Austrian Universities. 1 Networking Event in New York. 🇦🇹 🇺🇸

This week's Frühlingsfest at the Austrian Consulate General New York brought together alumni from 8 universities across Austria. 🌷

✨ What made this evening special?
People from very different walks of life, all building their lives abroad, many who had never really connected with other Austrians here, and certainly not with other alumni. And then suddenly, they found themselves in a room full of friendly people talking, laughing, and connecting.

✨ The result?
New friendships. New networks. A stronger community. Exactly what we hoped to create.

A week full of emotion, gratitude and joy!

Federal Minister of Justice Dr. Sporrer conferred Austrian decrees under § 58c of the Austrian Citizenship Act to a Holocaust survivor and 20 descendants of persons persecuted by the National Socialist Regime.

We extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated 58c team for their hard work and to everyone who joined us at the Austrian Consulate General in New York. Singing our national anthem together and sharing this meaningful moment made the evening truly unforgettable!
