Union County Public Schools-School Nutrition Services Department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are ServSafe certified and dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices. Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requir

ements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

🎉 Congratulations to four outstanding staff members from Waxhaw Elementary School who are retiring together in 2026 after decades of dedicated service to the Waxhaw community!

Collectively, these women have devoted more than a century of service to the students and families of Waxhaw through their work in the school cafeteria, where they played an important role in the daily lives of countless children.

Jeanette Woolford – Hired in 1993 (33 years of service)
Julie Starling – Hired in 1995 (31 years of service)
Susie Bartniski – Hired in 1999 (27 years of service)
Ana Rangel – Hired in 2005 (21 years of service)

Their commitment, consistency, kindness, and care have left a lasting impact on generations of students and families within the community.

They were also honored with a Proclamation recognizing their outstanding contributions and dedicated service to the students, families, and community of Waxhaw. They wanted their principal Jamie Hunt and SRO Vic Montalvo be included in the picture! 😎
