Students may dress out of uniform on Friday, October 30! Parents, please help your Rocket pick a picture-perfect outfit that follows these guidelines:
👟 Tennis shoes are required.
👕 No spaghetti straps or inappropriate wording.
🩳 Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be fingertip length.
🎃 No costumes, please!
Please check your child’s outfit tonight to make sure they’re ready for picture day! 😊

⏰ Who knew learning to tell time could be this much fun? 🚀 Our second graders are learning to read analog clocks, and they get to choose their own watches to wear as they track the time throughout the school day! From building math skills to developing independence and time-management skills, our Rockets are putting their learning into practice! ❤️💙 Union County Public Schools

Barring delays or weather issues, we should see a vivid rocket launch off the East Coast tomorrow morning. 🚀

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 lifts off from Cape Canaveral at 6:33 AM, carrying the CRS-35 cargo Dragon to the Space Station. Sunrise in Charlotte isn’t until 7:28 am, so we’ll still be in twilight as the rocket climbs about 65 miles before it hits sunlight. That’s the perfect setup for the “jellyfish” effect, a glowing, spreading plume lit by a sun we can’t see yet.

What to know for the Charlotte area:
⏰ Look from 6:36 to 6:42 AM, about 3 to 9 minutes after liftoff
🧭 Face south first, then follow it toward the east
📐 It stays low, peaking about 14° up in the southeast (a fist and a half above the horizon)
Find a spot with a clear view toward the south and east, away from trees and buildings

The best odds are along the coast from Florida to the Carolinas, but the Charlotte area is in a good spot too. We just need clear skies to the south and east. Share your photos with me if you catch it 📸
