Over the past four years, Mrs. Kauffman’s leadership has helped transform Marana High School, drastically improving its school letter grade from a low “C” to just shy of an “A” rating, earning the prestigious A+ School of Excellence, securing Marzano High Reliability Schools certifications, increasing graduation rates, and more.
As her nomination noted, she skillfully aligns systems, data, and people to drive continuous improvement and strengthen teaching and learning.

Beach Volleyball Courts coming to Marana High School!

Thanks to the generous support of JW Civil and Dorado Rock, the MHS Beach Volleyball team and school leaders were thrilled to celebrate breaking ground on two long-awaited sand volleyball courts! This is the first time sand volleyball courts will be located on campus, and students will no longer need to commute to nearby Crossroads Park to practice and play. JW Civil is providing the heavy equipment and labor, and Dorado Rock is donating 883 tons of fine sand.

The Marana High School softball program now has access to a new batting cage facility, with concrete and turf replacing dirt, and relocated closer to the fields away from a brick wall.

Our Marana High School administrative team and collaborative team leaders spent this past week at the ​​MUSD Admin Institute learning, collaborating, and planning for an outstanding 2026–27 school year. As an A+ School of Excellence, we remain committed to continuous growth and building on the momentum of our success to best serve our students, staff, and community. The theme of the week was “​Champions Choose Excellence“. Each day was a dress up theme and with Tiger Pride our Marana High School Leadership Team won the spirit trophy for the Friday theme “Putting in the Work” (workout attire).
