The 2025-2026 school year is coming to an end for our local school district. A couple of our local schools invited us to celebrate with students during their end-of-year activities/summer kickoff.

Officer Martin spent time with pre-k students for their ABC countdown to summer. K9 Officer Curtis, along with his partner Loki, participated in Community Helpers Day.

Yesterday was an important day for public safety in Loudon County as the new Don W. White Public Safety Training Center officially opened in Lenoir City.

The new facility will provide local law enforcement and fire personnel with a centralized in-county location for training, continuing education, and professional advancement. For many decades, a training center like this has been needed in our area, and its completion represents a major investment in the future of public safety throughout our county.

By allowing agencies like ours to train locally and more efficiently, the center will improve preparedness and collaboration among first responders while also helping reduce departmental operational and training expenses over time.

The Loudon Police Department would like to thank everyone who supported and contributed to this project, and would especially like to recognize and thank Mayor Jeff Harris and the Loudon City Council for their strong leadership and substantial financial investment in this project. The City of Loudon’s financial commitment was instrumental in helping to make this training center a reality and reflects a continued investment in the safety, readiness, and long-term success of first responders and the citizens they serve, as well as the importance of strong inter-agency partnerships.

Saturday May 9th, 2026

This upcoming Saturday is our local high school graduation for the Class of 2026.

Gates to the stadium will open at 8:00am.

Additional handicap parking is available inside the Carter Street gate. Vehicles with proper handicapped credentials will be able to park inside the Carter Street gate until 9:45 or until full. Vehicles must have a handicapped plate or official handicapped tag to enter the Carter Street stadium gate. Be mindful of the handicap zones, and do not use and/or block access to these designated areas.

Once the ceremony begins it is expected to last approximately 70 minutes. Our department will be conducting traffic control in the area once the ceremony is over. Please be patient during this time, because traffic will be heavy. Use alternate routes, if possible, during this time.

Our officers recently completed 2 days of in-house ALERRT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) as part of our continued commitment to readiness, now in our 4th year of ALERRT training.

This ongoing training sharpens our response to active threat situations, strengthens teamwork, and ensures we can act quickly and effectively when it matters most.

We hope these skills are never needed, but staying prepared is essential to protecting our community and those we serve.
