Turns out June is National Camping Month, which means our 1st graders celebrated one month early during their annual Camping Week last month! 🎉⛺️

To wrap up an incredible year of learning, 1st grade turned the classroom into the great indoors. They spent the week reviewing everything from math graphs to map reading, fire safety, and compound words, all while surviving on a steady diet of (gummy) snakes and s'mores!

The kids were so sad to see the tents get packed away, but what a way to finish out the year!

We have something to admit... 🫣

Spring's busy schedule got the best of us and we completely forgot to post about Hayden's Day 2026 that took place earlier this month, and it deserves to be celebrated. 💙

On May 7, LOISD hosted the 3rd Annual Hayden’s Field Day, welcoming nearly 100 participants from Lone Oak, Rains, Cumby, Quinlan Ford, and Greenville Deaf School for a day full of fun, inclusion, encouragement, and unforgettable memories.

What started three years ago as a simple idea has grown into something truly special, a day where every child is celebrated, every victory matters, and kindness takes center stage.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success!

We wrapped up the school year together this morning with our district-wide meeting, lots of hugs, laughter, Twilight Coffee, and breakfast burritos. ☕

We also recognized staff members celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years at Lone Oak ISD, with a large group celebrating their 5 year Buffalo anniversary!

It was a great way to come together one last time before summer and celebrate the people who make Lone Oak ISD such a special place to be.

LOISD celebrated three very special ladies this week as Tammy Hitchcock, Shannon Hinson, and Jan DeWitt officially begin their retirement journeys. 💕

Between the three of them are decades of service, countless relationships, and immeasurable impact on the students, staff, and families of Lone Oak ISD. Their fingerprints can be found in classrooms, hallways, offices, and memories across our district.

We are incredibly grateful for the years they gave to this district, and while they will certainly be missed, we are excited for them as they begin this next season surrounded by the people they love most.

Thank you, Mrs. Hitchcock, Mrs. Hinson, and Ms. DeWitt, for the difference you made here. 🦬
