Fulton County Republicans Award Two $1,000 Scholarships to Local High School Seniors
Fulton County, IL — The Fulton County Republicans announced today the recipients of its annual scholarship awards, granting two $1,000 scholarships to local high school seniors. The scholarships recognize students who demonstrate conservative values while attaining academic achievement, community involvement, and a commitment to civic engagement.
Ella Eathington, daughter of Kevin and Dr. Patricia Eathington of rural Avon, IL, is a senior at Spoon River Valley High School where she serves as Student Council president, FFA chapter president, and secretary of the Illinois Junior Angus Association. She is active in Students with Advocacy Training and Envirothon, enjoys playing volleyball, and works Black Angus cattle on her family's cattle farm. Ella plans to attend either Iowa State University or the University of Illinois to pursue a degree in animal science and aims to become a large animal veterinarian.
Lilyana (Lily) Terwilliger, daughter of Chad Terwilliger and Brittany Rogers of rural London Mills, is a senior at Abingdon‑Avon High School where she serves as FFA chapter secretary and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is involved in the Avondale 4‑H chapter, enjoys working with Black Angus cattle on her family's farm, and plans to attend Monmouth College to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing with the goal of becoming a NICU nurse and, ultimately, a neonatal nurse practitioner.
Recipients were chosen by a volunteer scholarship committee from a competitive pool of applicants and were evaluated on academic record, extracurricular activities, community service, and an essay describing their conservative values and future goals. The scholarship is open to all high school seniors residing in Fulton County. Senior students looking forward to attending colleges, trade schools, and several other training programs are welcome to apply.
The Fulton County Republicans are committed to promoting civic engagement and supporting educational and leadership opportunities for conservative youth across Fulton County.
