Starting Monday October 21st, 2024 @ 8:00 A.M. the Street on West Ave. E South Bound Lane at the corner of West Ave. E & South Monroe will be reduced to single lane traffic for road repairs.

Attention City of Lewistown! All-Town Clean-Up is officially over, if you still have yard clutter out in hopes to have it picked up, it would be in everyone's best interest to make other arrangements since the crew does not have the resources to continue with the clean-up further this year. Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation with this year's All-Town Clean-Up, be sure to come take a look this time next year for when the next All-Town Clean-Up will take place. ALL-TOWN CLEAN-UP OCT.15-18 2024
Attention Residents of the City of Lewistown! All-Town Clean-Up will be taking place starting October 15th, 2024 and will end on October 18th, 2024. The Public Works city crew will be handling our clean-up, starting from the North-West side of town and ending on the South-side. Please, be sure to have your stuff out that you want gone before the 15th as the crew WILL NOT backtrack for single individual's waste. Things to AVOID throwing out as our crew will not accept the disposal of: No paint, No aerosol, Nothing too heavy for ONE man to carry and lift, and Nothing over 8FT. in length, No electronics, appliances, hazardous waste, or car batteries. This is another great opportunity for the community to keep our City looking fresh, and your yards clutter-free. The Illinois Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (IL VOAD) along with local and state partners have partnered to serve residents of Fulton County, IL, impacted by severe storms last week will be hosting an emergency supplies distribution event.

𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡: 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 - 3:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠 𝘁𝗼 𝟱:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠
𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘: 𝗖𝘂𝗯𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝟲𝟭𝟲 𝗘 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗸 𝗦𝘁, 𝗖𝘂𝗯𝗮, 𝗜𝗟 𝟲𝟭𝟰𝟮𝟳

Disaster relief agencies present at this event will be providing resources such as flood clean up kits and other resources pertinent to recovery such as senior services, mental health, volunteer labor and spiritual care to those impacted by the last week’s storms. We will also be working on completing damage assessment forms to document residential damages to help determine what if any federal aid may potentially be available from this storm.

• The American Red Cross
• The Salvation Army Canton & Fulton County 360 Life Center
• Fulton County ESDA

An online form has been created to assist with documenting damages. This form will help develop a picture that local agencies will use to build a case for potential federal aid.

Using the data captured on this form, information captured at the MARC Event or if residents contact the Salvation Army will help local agencies provide the information needed to IEMA and FEMA. 𝙒𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙧 𝙛𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙨, but everyone within the County is doing everything they can to build that case. Additionally, IEMA has been a strong resource and partner in this process, but the decision (once all data is captured) rests at the federal level. Residents are strongly encouraged to document everything, keep receipts and inventories of damaged items. This process is a slow process and is beyond the control of local agencies.

Good-Afternoon residents of the City of Lewistown! Recently, our Public Works Department removed the clothes donation box by the Visitor's Center (Located 2 Blocks South of the County Courthouse) due to the increased unsanitary conditions donator's have left the box in at different points in the past. I just wanted to remind everyone that the Food Pantry Donation Box is still located by the Visitor's Center and is still accessible to use for food only, but we cannot accept any clothes or linen donations anymore. Moving forward, please do not leave the Visitor's Center parking lot littered with any of your unwanted's may it be for the kids or household living items.
