N.C. Forest Service is launching a new Disaster Mitigation Program to reduce heightened wildfire risk in communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. The DMP provides wildfire risk reduction treatments at no cost to eligible private and public landowners in Caldwell County and the other 38 federally declared disaster counties.

Designed to address hazardous fuel buildup, fallen timber and reduced access, the program aims to lower the risk of catastrophic wildfire impacts to homes, infrastructure and natural resources.

Grateful for Our Community Partners! 🙌🚒

We are incredibly thrilled and deeply grateful to announce that the Bernhardt Furniture Foundation has approved our grant application to fully fund a brand-new, modern Access Control lock system at our station!

This grant is a major win for both our volunteers and our neighbors. Not only does it upgrade our station's security, but it also strengthens our community partnerships. Because this system is shared with other emergency agencies in our area, it allows us to link credentials, giving mutual aid partners secure access to our facility during joint operations.

A massive thank you to the Bernhardt Furniture Foundation for your incredible generosity and for continually investing in the safety, readiness, and future of Caldwell County. We are proud to have you as a partner in protecting the Yadkin Valley!

🚨 Great news! 🚨
Funds are on their way to our community! We are excited to share that our department has been awarded a new grant from the State Fire Marshal to help purchase needed equipment for our station. A huge thank you to Chief Chris Dillard for his hard work in securing these funds, and to our dedicated members who work tirelessly to keep us safe every day. We are so proud to serve this community!
