Lenoir MLK Center facility includes a gym, weight room, outdoor shelter, tennis courts, and a computer lab. It also functions as a nutrition site throughout the week from 9:00 until 12:00. The Lenoir Martin Luther King Center operates under Lenoir Parks and Rec. The North Carolina Arts Council is seeking a well-rounded Professional Development Manager to join our team! The Professional Development Manager:
• Manages professional development content and technical support for the programs of the Arts Learning team, including A+ Schools of North Carolina, teaching artist engagements, and other arts in education training experiences offered around the state.
• Is responsible for developing, reviewing/evaluating, and sometimes teaching professional development and training content in various formats such as workshops and conferences (both in-person and virtual), asynchronous on-line training modules, documents, and other resources.
• Is a member of the Arts Learning Team and assists the Senior Program Director for Arts Learning in overall program strategy and planning, as required.
• Requires communication with NC Department of Public Instruction as well as other education partners in the state and throughout the nation in order to keep abreast with current trends, opportunities, and policies in the education field.

This position is integral in achieving the N.C. Arts Council's goal of “arts for all”.
