Imagine! is a non-profit provider agency focused on empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a variety of services.

was established in 1963 by a group of parents determined to see that their children with developmental disabilities had the opportunity to participate in their community. We continue to use that original goal as the basis for our mission. We believe in the potential of all. We believe that people with developmental disabilities have much to offer, and providing the tools and
supports that allow them to show what they have to offer benefits us all.

Thank you to our community for joining us for a fun evening at our annual Trunk or Treat! The trunks were creative and the costumes were so fun! Batman, ghost busters Bo Nix, Scooby Doo and more were all there!

The incredible art from Imagine! artists were showcased and available for purchase, and it was inspiring to see our community come together to support and celebrate their talents.

Thank you to all who decorated their trunks, served warm drinks and made sure the candy was stocked the entire time, making this a memorable night for our community.

Virtual cooking class but make it Halloween themed! 🎃

Each week, Tyler virtually brings our students into his home kitchen for a live cooking show where they get to be part of the process.

This month, participants in Tyler's Tasty Travels Around the World virtual cooking class challenged him to create Halloween-themed dishes. One student even spotted a Jack-O'-Lantern stuffed pepper on Instagram and challenged Tyler to recreate it.

From monster spaghetti and spooky treats to colorful mocktails, each recipe became an opportunity to build cooking skills, explore substitutions, and share creativity. Along the way, students helped shape the experience with their own ideas, preferences, and questions.

We love seeing what happens when people come together, get creative, and make something fun.

Did someone say Trunk or Treat?🎃

YES! You are invited to our Trunk or Treat NEXT WEEK! October 29 from 5:30-7:30 at the Imagine! Office. Bring your family, get dressed in your costumes, get some candy or non-candy items, and have a great time!

The Imagine! artist group will be hosting a pop-up shop, selling their original artwork, so be sure to check that out and support their work!

Lastly, The Giving Back Gang, which is part of ACS, is setting up their Free Little Library, so be sure to stop by!

It is going to be a great night, and we are excited to see all the decorated trunks and costumes!

Join Jodi Walters and Dustin Barrington, Executive Director of L'Arche Northern Colorado, at the 2026 IHC Neuro-Inclusive Housing Workshop on Monday as they share the story of the Imagine! and L'Arche partnership.

Their presentation will highlight how working together is creating more opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live independently while staying connected to community.

Because home is about relationships, choice, and belonging.

This is what happens when creativity meets adaptive technology?

Thanks to a grant from the Big Joy Foundation, participants in Imagine!'s Social Enterprises + Adaptive Technology program have been experimenting with UV printing! They can use this technology to transfer artwork onto a variety of surfaces. So far, they've printed on cups, coasters, canvases, discs, and more. If it has a surface, there's a good chance they can print their original artwork on it!

UV printing gives artists more tools to express their creativity and explore new possibilities.
We're excited to see what these artists create next. Thank you, Big Joy Foundation, for making this possible and helping open new opportunities for creativity and innovation.

Who comes to mind when you think of someone who goes the extra mile?

Maybe it's the employee who listened when it mattered most. The one who opened a door, put a smile on someone's face, solved a problem, or helped someone feel welcome.

"Someone opened a door for our family. Over time, we found ways to open doors for others."

Those words from Patti Micklin stuck with us after our Open Doors event last week. Patti shared how her family came to Colorado looking for better opportunities for her daughter Emily who has intellectual and developmental disabilities. Patti and her family found something that made all the difference: connection. A conversation with another parent helped them see new possibilities and navigate a path forward.

That story captured the message of the evening. Open Doors brought together families, supporters, board members, community partners, and friends to share stories, build relationships, and explore what happens when people show up for one another.

As Patti shared, one open door often leads to another. Over the years, her family has helped create opportunities for others through relationships, leadership, and community connections. And that's true for so many people in the Imagine! community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared a conversation, made an introduction, or simply took time to connect. Those moments matter more than we sometimes realize.

You never know where an open door might lead.

At the end of September, members of Atonement Lutheran Church joined us for their annual "God's Work, Our Hands" day of service, washing our fleet vehicles inside and out. 🚐🧽

They've made this part of their September tradition for years, and we're so grateful for their partnership. This simple act of service helps keep the vehicles that many people rely on every day clean, comfortable, and ready for the trips that connect people to meaningful experiences, relationships, and opportunities throughout our community.

Thank you to everyone who spent their Sunday morning with us. We appreciate the helping hands, the good conversation, and the reminder that community often looks a lot like showing up with a sponge and a willingness to help.
