Imagine!

Imagine! Imagine! is a non-profit provider agency focused on empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a variety of services.

was established in 1963 by a group of parents determined to see that their children with developmental disabilities had the opportunity to participate in their community. We continue to use that original goal as the basis for our mission. We believe in the potential of all. We believe that people with developmental disabilities have much to offer, and providing the tools and
supports that allow them to show what they have to offer benefits us all.

This Pride Month, we’re reflecting on what it means to create environments where people feel seen, heard, and supported to be their full selves. Inclusion happens when it’s built intentionally, through everyday actions, conversations, and decisions.

At Imagine!, human-centeredness means designing cultures where difference is not just accepted, but genuinely valued.

Where people know they belong because they are welcomed as they are.

The rainbow background featured here was painted by one of our Adult Community Service members—a reflection of the creativity, individuality, and pride that make our community stronger.

We’re committed to continuing this work, listening deeply, and creating space for everyone to thrive.

We are cheering on our 2026 Summer Camp Counselors as they prepare for a great summer! 🎉 This incredible team helps create an environment where kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities can enjoy meaningful, community-based experiences all summer long.

“At Imagine!, our community-based summer camp fosters friendship, independence, and belonging,” shares Quincy Malecki, School Age Services Program Manager, “creating experiences that help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities thrive both during the summer and throughout their lives.”

We can’t wait to share more of what they’re up to—and all the fun they’re having! ☀️

Today, we recognize GAAD — Global Accessibility Awareness Day. At Imagine!, we’re committed to removing barriers and creating more inclusive experiences for individuals with disabilities.

One of the most powerful ways we do this is through technology.

In today’s fast-evolving digital world, it’s essential that technology is inclusive and accessible to everyone—visually, audibly, physically, and cognitively.

What does that look like?
✨ Adding alt text to images
🎥 Including captions on videos
⌨️ Providing adaptable hardware for easier typing
🧠 Keeping interfaces clean and easy to navigate

Last Friday, Imagine! and Imagine! Foundation board members and staff hit the road for another Board Tour—experiencing Imagine! services firsthand 💙

We kicked things off at Iris Bistro, where Chef Raul served up delicious taco bowls. Iris Bistro is a special place where residents of Golden West retirement enjoy meals and the chance to socialize and volunteer.

Next stop: Boulder Charles Group Home, where we connected with residents and experienced the sense of belonging, stability, and shared success that makes this community so meaningful.

Then it was on to Dog House Studio, where we joined the Adult Community Services music class and were treated to a few incredible songs.

We wrapped up the day at our Lafayette office, diving deeper into Imagine!’s inclusive approach to behavior and mental health services.

Grateful for the chance to see the impact of this work up close—and for the amazing people who make it all possible.
