Keesler Air Force Base located in Biloxi, Mississippi on the Gulf Coast. Keesler is home to the 81st Training Wing, 2nd Air Force, the 403rd Wing, 85th Engineering Installation Squadron and the Mathies NCO Academy. Keesler AFB is part of the Air Education and Training Command, and its primary mission, since 1941, has been training. The emphasis is on high-technology training in a number of fields,
primarily in the electronics specialties such as wideband maintenance, ground radio, information technology, avionics and cryptography. The 81st Training wing also trains meteorology personnel, radar operations, air traffic control, Aviation Resource Management and tropical cyclone forecasting. Keesler AFB has a complete shopping complex which houses the Exchange, Military Clothing, Dry Cleaning and Alteration Shop, Vista Optical, Barber Shop, Hair Salon, Nail Salon, Patriots Outfitter, Bunker 27, Starbucks, GNC, Peony Lane, Sports Place, Game Stop, Windy City Dogs, Charlie's and Arby's. Keesler AFB also has a Popeyes, Subway, Express with Gas and Class Six, Hunt Brother's Pizza, Firestone, Donut Shop and Barber Shop.
