Jupiter Fire Rescue Department Official page for Town of Jupiter Fire Rescue Department, committed to serving its residents. For emergencies, call 911.

At its meeting on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, the Jupiter Town Council directed Town staff to create the Jupiter Fire Rescue Department (JFRD) to deliver excellent levels of fire and rescue service at a lower, more sustainable cost to residents and businesses. This direction came after 18 months of negotiations with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and an exhaustive feasibility study by the Center for Public Safety Management (CPSM). Read the full study here, and view a summary presentation here. JFRD WILL PROVIDE LOCAL CONTROL:
Creating the new JFRD will allow the Jupiter Town Council to have local control over costs, operations, and levels of service. It will also allow the Council to make fiscally-responsible decisions on behalf of Jupiter’s residents and businesses, and will significantly decrease the cost of fire rescue and emergency services compared to what is charged by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR), currently and into the future. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Over the 10-year timeframe of the current interlocal agreement, Jupiter taxpayers will save $50-70 million by establishing the JFRD. In Fiscal Year 2027, the first year in which JFRD will provide provide service, the average homesteaded single-family home in Jupiter ($443,833 of taxable value) will save at a minimum of $173 and up to $930 in property taxes as compared to what is charged by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. Over the first five years of the JFRD, the savings will be a minimum of $883 and as much as $4,593. The Town of Jupiter has always done an exceptional job at managing its financial position, which will allow the Town to start the JFRD through a combination of cash, financial debt, and ad valorem taxes. Even when start-up costs and financing costs are incorporated, Jupiter residents and businesses will pay far less in taxes once the JFRD is operational than they currently pay to PBCFR for the same service. CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE:
The Town of Jupiter has established a culture of excellence in regards to public safety. The Jupiter Police Department sets this benchmark every day, and JFRD will start its service from a position of excellence on day one. MOVING FORWARD:
The Town is in the implementation phase of the JFRD, which will begin service on October 1, 2026. The Town will receive fire rescue and EMS services from PBCFR until that time under the current interlocal agreement.

🌊 KING TIDES | OCTOBER 26 – NOVEMBER 12
Higher-than-normal tides, known as King Tides, are expected along Florida's east coast from October 26 through November 12.

During this period, low-lying and coastal areas may experience temporary flooding, particularly around high tide. And remember, tidal flooding can occur even when it's not raining!

King Tides are a naturally occurring seasonal event, but weather conditions, wind and rainfall can increase water levels.

A few reminders to stay safe:
🚗 Avoid flooded roadways. Never attempt to drive through standing water.
🌊 Be aware of your surroundings. Use extra caution in low-lying areas and locations prone to tidal flooding.
🏡 Plan ahead. If your home or neighborhood is prone to flooding, take precautions to protect your property.

Stay safe, Jupiter! 💙

Just after 8:00 pm Wednesday night, Jupiter Fire Rescue and The Jupiter Police Department responded to a house fire on Banyan Circle. JPD's new drones arrived on scene ahead of firefighters, providing valuable information about the fire and helping crews prepare their response.

JFRD firefighters arrived within five minutes to find heavy smoke and flames. Crews quickly brought the fire under control.

Most importantly, all members of the family living in the home safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. While the family has lost their home, they were able to find temporary accommodations with nearby relatives and were referred to the American Red Cross for additional assistance. Our thoughts are with them as they begin the difficult process of recovering from this fire.

This incident marked an important first for Jupiter Fire Rescue, the department's first residential structure fire, and demonstrated the training, preparation and coordination between Jupiter's fire and police departments. We are proud to partner with JPD to bring a complete public safety focus to our Town.

You can Google just about anything… but your health shouldn't be one of those guessing games. 🎀💗

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Jupiter Fire Rescue is here with a friendly reminder: Take care of yourself!

Know your body, pay attention to changes and talk to your doctor about when to schedule your mammogram. Early detection matters, and your health is too important to put on the back burner.

And remember… Google, TikTok and AI are no substitute for your doctor! 😉

🚒 We spend every day looking out for Jupiter. Don't forget to look out for yourself, too.
