We’re thrilled to share that Busch Wildlife Sanctuary has been recognized in TWO categories of Jupiter Magazine's inaugural Good Works Awards!

🌟 Most Valuable Volunteer: Bonnie Hampp! With more than 1,300 volunteer hours in just under four years, Bonnie shares her love of Florida’s native wildlife with visitors and school groups, inspiring the next generation of conservationists.

🩺 Collaboration Award: Our Veterinary Internship Partnership with Loggerhead Marinelife Center! This unique program gives recent veterinary graduates hands-on experience caring for both terrestrial and marine wildlife, helping prepare the next generation of wildlife veterinarians.

These honors celebrate what makes our mission so special: the compassionate people, dedicated volunteers, and incredible community partners who work together every day to make a difference for wildlife💚

Patient #5000🐰

Yesterday, Busch Wildlife Sanctuary admitted our 5,000th patient of the year — a tiny marsh rabbit found in a swimming pool in Palm Beach Gardens.

Our team completed an intake exam, determined the rabbit was clinically healthy, provided supportive care, and admitted for overnight observation. This morning, this little one was bright, responsive, and eating well💚 We're hopeful to return this young rabbit back to the wild soon!

We've already reached 5,000 patients with over two months of the year still to go — and wildlife admissions are up nearly 10% compared to this time last year!

That means more mouths to feed, more specialized diets, more medical supplies, more enclosures to maintain, and more hours of dedicated care from our wildlife rehabilitation team.

Your donation helps provide the food, supplies, medical care, and rehabilitation our growing number of patients need to get back where they belong: in the wild🐾

This year’s Impact Report, "Deepening Our Roots. Expanding Our Reach." is, at its heart, a story about you — our loyal supporters💚

Because of your generosity, Busch Wildlife Sanctuary treated over 5,400 injured, sick, and orphaned animals at our wildlife rehabilitation center and welcomed over 117,000 visitors to our campus, including nearly 20,000 students.

These are not simply Busch Wildlife Sanctuary accomplishments. They are yours. Every animal given a second chance, every child inspired to care for nature, and every person who leaves our campus with a deeper appreciation for wildlife is part of the impact you make possible.

It's National Reptile Awareness Day!

Today is dedicated to promoting education, conservation, and appreciation for the often misunderstood reptiles, which are vital parts of many ecosystems - but especially ours here in South Florida!

Why are reptiles so important?
🐍Snakes act as natural pest control, reducing rodent populations which destroy crops and sometimes carry diseases that can infect people
🐢Turtles and tortoises are keystone species that support healthy ecosystems through their roles as habitat creators and vegetation managers
🐊Alligators are our "ecological engineers" that maintain wetland habitats, control other animal populations as an apex predator, and support biodiversity

Get ready for a spooktacular day of fall fun at Busch Wildlife Sanctuary! Join us this Sunday for our Feathers, Fangs, Fur, & FUN Halloween celebration.
