🍂 Another golf season is coming to a close at Inver Wood Golf Course!

The course will officially close for the season on Wednesday, November 4.

With 27 holes set among 275 acres of rolling, wooded terrain, Inver Wood offers a scenic golf experience right here in Inver Grove Heights. ⛳

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a round this year! We look forward to welcoming you back next season.

🎶 What song has your toddler dancing like nobody’s watching?

We’re building the playlist for our Tiny & Tall Glow Ball, and we need your help! What songs are on repeat in your home right now? The toddler dance party favorites, the songs they request 15 times a day, the ones you know all the words to (whether you want to or not😂).

Drop your song requests below! And if you haven’t grabbed your tickets yet, bring your tiny dancer and your favorite parent friends for an evening of glowing lights, music, dinner, dessert, activities and photo ops.

The pools are closed for the evening and there will be no open swim or lap swim on Wednesday, October 28 due to the tornado watch issued by the National Weather Society.

Due to rain and the potential for severe weather, tonight’s open house has moved indoors to the Veterans Memorial Community Center!

🐐 The goats are grazing their way out of South Valley Park! 🌿

Our four-legged, plant-munching helpers are nearing the end of their stay! This summer, these hardworking goats helped remove invasive plants from the park’s steep terrain, where heavy machinery is difficult to access and manual removal would take significant staff time.

Their work supports the City’s efforts to preserve trees, protect our natural areas and maintain our community’s tree canopy. Talk about bleating the odds! 🌳💚

Haven’t gotten a chance to see them? You still have time! The goats will be at South Valley Park through October 31, so trot on over for one last look before they head out!

📸 You’re welcome to admire them from the trails, but please remember:
⚠️ Stay outside the fencing.
🚫 Please don’t pet or feed the goats. They’re on the clock!
👀 Keep a close eye on little ones.
🦴 Keep pets leashed at all times.

🌳 Help shape the future of Ernster and Salem Hills Parks!

Both playgrounds are more than 20 years old and are proposed for replacement in 2027 as part of the City's Capital Improvements Plan.

Last month we collected resident feedback on what you’d like to see in the new playgrounds; thank you to everyone who shared comments! Our community survey is now closed, and we’ve been working with our playground developer to turn your ideas into preliminary designs.

Join us at an upcoming open house to meet with our team, explore the proposed playground designs, and share your thoughts. Your input will help inform the next steps in planning these exciting park improvements!

🌱 Prescribed Burn Notice: Harmon Park Reserve

As part of an ongoing habitat restoration project, a controlled burn is planned for the central prairie at Harmon Park Reserve this fall.

The burn will be conducted by Minnesota Native Landscapes, an experienced restoration contractor, under a permit with the Inver Grove Heights Fire Department. Nearby neighbors have been notified by postcard, and safety measures will be in place.

🔥 When will the burn take place? Timing depends on specific wind and humidity conditions to ensure safe conditions. We’ll share an update once a date is scheduled.

Prescribed burns are an important tool for managing invasive vegetation and supporting healthy prairie ecosystems. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we care for the long-term health of Harmon Park Reserve!

Be the friendly face greeting fans at high school hockey games! Check mobile tickets, answer guest questions, and distribute game programs. Evening and weekend availability required.

Volunteer coaches receive a T-shirt, 4 free VMCC passes and our endless gratitude for helping local kids find their love of sports. 💙
