As your sheriff, I will build a secure app that gives you a direct line to the deputy assigned to your zone for non-emergency issues. You’ll also see a short bio so you know exactly who your deputy is.

You’ll be able to send a message about speeding, suspicious activity, or ongoing concerns in your neighborhood, and get a response back. You’ll receive real-time alerts about scams, safety issues, and anything you need to be aware of in your area. This will be a no-spam app.

This isn’t about replacing 911. It’s about solving problems before they turn into emergencies, and making sure your concerns, your ideas, and your voices are heard.

Because making this county one of the safest in the nation starts with real communication.

What does community policing actually look like?

It means deputies aren’t just bouncing from call to call across the county. They’re assigned to an area longterm. They stay there. They get to know it intimately. You know their name. They know yours.

They will know the neighborhoods, the businesses, and the churches. They notice when something’s off and step in early, before it turns into a 911 call. And when something does happen, you’re not getting a stranger, but someone who has earned your trust.

We’re going to put more deputies on the road, but more importantly, we’re going to put the right deputies in the right places and put them in a position to care for and be accountable to the communities they serve.

I am honored to be supported and endoresed by the Veterans for Responsible Leadership! Thank you to everyone at VFRL who came together to back my campaign for Madison County Sheriff, as we look toward establishing a new legacy of protecting and serving the people of this great county.

VFRL ENDORSEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT:
Veterans for Responsible Leadership is proud to announce our endorsement of U.S. Navy Veteran, Brett Jones, for election as Sheriff of Madison County, Alabama. Brett is a former Navy Seal whose SEAL team deployed just two weeks after 9/11. Later, as a CIA GRS agent, Brett successfully completed countless missions, protecting American interests in some of the most hostile places on the planet. During his 13 years in the CIA, he helped to create one of the most successful protective programs in the world – his team never lost an asset.
 
Brett Jones has extensive public safety experience. He is the founder of successful large private security companies, and he understands the bottlenecks that keep our law enforcement officers from doing their jobs.
 
Brett believes in the importance of law enforcement officers building trust in their communities and being there to help and protect the citizens that they humbly serve. At a time in this nation where we are seeing some federal law enforcement officers intimidate and harass the communities that they are called to protect, VFRL believes in supporting a candidate that can show what right looks like at the local level. Join me at the Avenue Building downtown on Thursday, February 5th at 6 p.m. to help me formally launch my campaign for Madison County Sheriff! Alan Little, one of my favorite performers, will be playing live. His music is raw, honest, and powerful; the perfect kind of music to help us kick off my campaign. There will also be food and drinks!

That night, I will lay out exactly how we make Madison County one of the safest counties in America with real leadership, real accountability, and a hard reset on our culture of law enforcement. As a Navy SEAL, I have lived my life like failure is not an option, and I’m bringing that mindset to our law enforcement community here at home.
