After a disaster, even the most basic necessities can suddenly become urgent. ❤️🇨🇴

One of the stops on our Colombia relief trip was the hospital serving this community, which suffered significant earthquake damage.

Patients and medical staff have been forced to adapt while repairs and longer-term decisions are still being made. Walking through the damaged areas made it very clear just how disruptive the earthquake has been not only to homes and schools, but also to essential medical care.

When we learned that one of the immediate needs was bedding, we knew it was something we could help with right away.

Because of your generosity, For A Better Tomorrow delivered 40 sets of sheets, along with several orthopedic support devices, to help patients and staff during this difficult transition.

This project reminded us of something we saw again and again throughout the trip: helping does not always mean solving the biggest problem. Sometimes it means simply asking, “What do you need right now?” and being able to respond.

Thank you to everyone who made it possible for us to say yes. ❤️

And the needs did not end when we came home. We are continuing to support recovery efforts, especially for schools and families still waiting for safe, stable spaces.

If you would like to help us continue this work, donations are still being accepted through For A Better Tomorrow. Every contribution gives us the ability to respond where the need is greatest. 🇨🇴❤️

Sometimes getting children back to school starts with simply giving them a safe place to learn. ❤️🇨🇴
Institución Educativa Rufino José Cuervo in Armenia serves approximately 1,200 students. After the earthquake, two of the school’s three buildings were ultimately deemed unsafe, leaving hundreds of students without enough safe classroom space.
Because of your generosity, For a Better Tomorrow was able to provide five large tents that are now being used as temporary classrooms.
Elementary students use them during the day, and high school students use the same spaces in the afternoon.
Seeing these tents filled with desks, teachers, lessons, backpacks, and children learning again was incredibly meaningful. They may be temporary structures, but right now they are giving students something much bigger: a safe place to learn, reconnect with their teachers and classmates, and return to a sense of routine.
The photos tell the story better than we ever could; from the earthquake damage, to the tents being assembled, to students back at their desks.
This is what your generosity looks like in action. ❤️
And while we are so grateful for what has already been accomplished, there are still other schools waiting for the same opportunity.

We’re home from Colombia, and our hearts are very full. ❤️🇨🇴

We arrived after the earthquake not knowing exactly what we would find or where we could make the greatest difference. We went ready to listen, learn, and put the generosity you entrusted to us where it was needed most.
Because of your support, For A Better Tomorrow was able to complete six different relief projects: helping schools, a hospital, individual families, and communities still dealing with the effects of the earthquake.
We saw heartbreaking damage, but we also saw incredible resilience: teachers refusing to let their students fall behind, families rebuilding, communities helping one another, and children continuing to smile through it all.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing each project individually so you can see exactly what your donations made possible.
One thing became very clear during this trip: the earthquake is over, but the recovery is not.
We came home with commitments to continue helping, especially two rural schools that still need safe temporary classrooms.
To everyone who donated, shared our posts, collected supplies, encouraged us, and trusted us to carry your kindness to Colombia: THANK YOU! ❤️
The trip may be over, but the work continues. 🇨🇴
Follow along as we share the stories behind each project and the incredible people we met along the way.

What started as a desire to help our communities in Colombia has grown into something truly incredible. Because of all of you, we have now raised $8,720, along with school supplies, games, and soccer balls that we will be taking to Colombia next week. ❤️🇨🇴

As we prepare to go, our focus is becoming even clearer. We will be working to help create temporary learning spaces for two schools that have not been able to safely welcome their students back because their buildings are no longer safe.

Education has always been at the heart of For A Better Tomorrow. In the middle of so much tragedy, uncertainty, and disruption, we believe giving children a safe place to return to class, see their friends, continue learning, and regain some sense of routine is incredibly important.

Thank you to every person who has donated, shared our posts, collected supplies, reached out, and trusted us to put these funds where they can make the greatest difference. We cannot wait to show you the impact your generosity will make. ❤️

Our hearts are with the communities in Colombia that have been devastated by this week’s earthquake.
These are communities our non-profit has served for nearly 20 years, and in just 4 weeks we will be there in person, partnering with trusted local organizations to help deliver support where it is needed most.
Your donation will help us respond directly to urgent needs on the ground, whether that means food, clean water, medical supplies, shelter materials, hygiene essentials, or other critical support.
Every donation makes a difference, and all donations are tax-deductible.
Please donate if you can, and please share this post to help us reach more people. Thank you for standing with Colombia. ❤️DM us if you need the donation info directly.

Thank you so much to all the people that helped us provide and deliver 18 baby carriers to shelter Hogar Santa Ana in Cali, Colombia. These young single moms now have the ability to work, go to appointments and manage their daily activities while carrying their babies along. The carriers will remain at the shelter so many other moms will continue to benefit from them in the future.

Meet Ivan. He’s making sweet music and developing his brain thanks to this donated clarinet. You could help kids like Ivan by donating unused instruments from your home. We’ll make sure they make it safely to another kid like him in Colombia. Message us to arrange for a pick up.
