The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office would like to wish all of our staff members who are fathers, as well as our fathers-to-be, a very Happy Father’s Day!

Today we recognize and honor the dads and future dads among us for the dedication, leadership, sacrifice, and strength they show not only while serving our community, but also at home with their families. Thank you for the example you set and for the many roles you fill every day.

We also extend our appreciation to all fathers and father figures who lead, protect, and inspire others.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING...

WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following
counties, Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Bullock, Calhoun, Chambers,
Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale,
Jefferson, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry,
Pickens, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter,
Talladega, Tallapoosa and Tuscaloosa.

WHEN...Through Friday evening.

IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

A moderate to high risk of flash flooding is in effect Thursday and Friday, with the highest threat across the southern portions of Central Alabama. Flash flooding will be likely with rainfall amounts of 2-5" and locally higher amounts of 6" or more. Never cross flooded roads.

A Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office deputy was able to quickly locate the suspect vehicle and conduct a traffic stop, leading to the detention of the driver until Alabama Department of Corrections investigators could continue their investigation.

This case highlights the strong working relationship between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and demonstrates how cooperation and communication help keep our communities safe.

We commend our deputy for his alertness, professionalism, and swift response, which played a key role in bringing this incident to a successful conclusion.
