Everyone come out to Ross Street at 8: 30 this morning to cheer on our Special Olympians as they go to Jacksonville to compete today. I know they would love to see their hometown encouraging them. They will leave Cleburne County High School right at 8:30 and will be coming through downtown shortly thereafter. Let's line the streets!

🚨🚨Parking issues along Vaughn Street and Lakeview Dr. during little league baseball games, there is NO PARKING in the roadway of these two streets. There will be no parking signs added in these areas to help with confusion.

Furthermore, parking in the Heflin Episcopal Church parking lot is a privilege, not a right. The City does NOT own this parking lot, but the Episcopal church patrons are gracious enough to allow parking in their parking lot. If these parking spaces are FULL, please park at the Rec. Center and not in the roadway to avoid further issues. Please share. ⚾️🥎

Please welcome Heflin Police Departments two newest officers, Officer McWilliams and Officer Gore. Officer McWilliams is originally from the Spring Garden community and comes to us after a stint in the U.S. Navy and as a federal corrections officer. Officer Gore is a hometown boy who wanted to serve the community that he grew up in and is also a firefighter. He is the son of Michael and Misty Gore whom many of you will know. I've told him for years that I'd would one day hire him and this past week I finally got a chance to. Please welcome these two new officers as they begin their careers in law enforcement. They will soon attend the police academy and begin patrol duties upon their graduation. I have high hopes for both of them and I know they will do great things in their careers. We have more officers coming this year as well as a new Police Department about to be under construction. 2026 will be a great year for HPD! Welcome to the family guys!
