I have done a lot of judging over the last 8 years, often presiding over several hundred cases in a typical week.
But last night, I handled 10 new cases that I had never judged before. 🥣
I was honored to serve as a judge for the St. Paul's Church chili cookoff. The 3 judge panel consisted of retired sheriff Neil Elks, Greenville City Council member Seth Hardee, and me!
We had 10 different chilies to judge, and all were decidedly delicious. Each was tasty in its own way -- some were spicy and some were sweet, and a few even brought the heat. 🌶 🥵
I enjoyed getting to visit with everyone at St. Paul's, and my daughter really enjoyed the trunk or treat.

Early voting is CLOSED on Saturday and Sunday in Pitt County, but will reopen on Monday morning at 8️⃣ AM.

I want to say thank you to retired Chief District Court Judge Gwyn Hilburn for her strong endorsement. I thank her for her vote and her support. ✔️

Judge Hilburn was the first female Judge to serve on the district court bench in Pitt County, and I learned a lot from her. She had compassion for people, especially young people, and she cared about this community so much.
I am humbled and honored to receive her endorsement.
