For more than a year, people across the country have hit the streets to send a message: Power belongs to the people.

From workers’ rights to the right to vote, the strength of the labor movement goes hand in hand with the strength of our democracy. When ordinary people are empowered to stand up for their rights, we can all build a brighter future together. Happy Labor Day!

09/07/2026

This Labor Day, we recommit to building a future where every worker can earn a living wage, work with dignity, and have a real voice in their workplace.

09/07/2026

Labor rights as we know them today have a storied history of working people’s struggle, resistance, and solidarity. This Labor Day, North Carolina's educators stand with every worker who's ever organized for dignity, respect, and voice on the job. Together, we fight for our students, we fight for our schools, and we’re asking everyone to join our fight to prioritize our kids over corporations and fight for union rights for public sector workers in NC. Let’s win y’all.

Solidarity forever,
Christina Cole, NCAE President
