We are proud to continue our annual tradition of bringing together the retired members of the Gorham Police Department for a barbecue luncheon. This is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with those who have dedicated so much of their lives to serving our community, share stories, reminisce about the years spent together, and enjoy some good food and fellowship. We had special guests & former LEO's Dave and Frank Lyons stop by that day as well.😀

Our retirees will always be an important part of the Gorham Police Department family, and we always look forward to hosting this special gathering as an annual tradition for years to come.🙏

As always, we would like to say thank you also to the VIP’s , Buffy Houp and Rich Ruth for their help with all of the set up, barbecue preparation, and cooking.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

👮‍♂️🚔 Community Helpers Week! 🚔👮‍♂️

Last Week, Officer Saucier and Officer Gagnon had a great time visiting three local daycares for Community Helpers Week!

They spent time talking with the kids about what police officers do, how we help keep our community safe, and what it means to be a community helper. The kids had plenty of great questions and enjoyed getting an up-close look at some of the equipment our officers use every day!

A big thank you to the daycares, teachers, and kids for welcoming us. We always enjoy opportunities like these to connect with some of the youngest members of our community and help build positive relationships with law enforcement from an early age.

Thanks for having us! 💙

Our Thoughts and Prayers are with Windham Police Department - Maine and Falmouth Police Department and all of those who knew Ray.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Retired Captain Raymond Williams’ family, the Windham Police Department - Maine, and the Falmouth Maine Police Department, along with the close law enforcement community within Cumberland County.

Captain Williams (Ret.) was a true professional, a colleague, a mentor, and a friend to many. Captain Williams (Ret.) was a consummate professional who never hesitated to assist in times of need, provide a caring thought, or to represent public safety in finest fashion. Captain Williams (Ret.) was well known in the Town of Windham, whether it be patrolling the town on their motorcycle, providing fi****ms training, or training young officers how to detect drug impairment in motor vehicle operators through the Drug Recognition Expert program. Captain Williams (Ret.) had a Guardian Heart and a Warrior Spirit throughout his law enforcement career.

Rest in peace, Captain Ray Williams (Ret.). Your service has made our community safer!

The Reed Allen Community Fund Golf Ball Drop is back for 2026, and it lands right in the middle of Homecoming. Hundreds of numbered golf balls are released from a Gorham Fire Department ladder truck high above a target at midfield, and where your ball comes to rest decides what you win.

Good day all. As always, we want to keep everyone safe as we roll into the fall with schools now open. It is very important to remember to slow down in school zones. 🙏🚌🏫

As students head to and from school, the Gorham Police Department is taking a moment to remind all drivers to slow down, stay alert, and watch for pedestrians and school buses.

Recently, during our patrols we have witnessed an increase in school zone speeding with many drivers exceeding 30 and even 40 MPH in a 15 MPH zone.

Maine law establishes a 15 MPH speed limit in qualifying school zones; in Gorham, school zones are active from 8:15am – 9:15am, and 2:30pm – 3:30pm.

School zone speeding fines can add up quickly:
• 1–9 MPH over: $203
• 10–14 MPH over: $233
• 15–19 MPH over: $315
• 20–24 MPH over: $435
• 25–29 MPH over: $531

Please plan ahead, put the phone down,📵 and give yourself extra time. A few seconds saved will NEVER be worth putting any child at risk.

So please Slow down, Stay alert, and Help keep Gorham kids safe.👨‍🎓👩‍🎓
