Celebrating 5 Years of Service! 👏

Today we're recognizing Engineer John Santoro for five years of dedicated service with the Fountain Inn Fire Department!

John says what has kept him serving the City is the culture of the Fire Department and the people on his shift. One of his proudest accomplishments is simply reaching the five-year milestone, and he says it's the people he works alongside who make the job so rewarding.

When he's off duty, John enjoys riding dirt bikes and working out. A fun fact about him? He met Tony Hawk when he was a kid!

As he celebrates this milestone, John would like to recognize Jeremy Sparks for making his career with the City meaningful.

Thank you, John, for five years of dedication, teamwork, and service to the City of Fountain Inn. Congratulations on this milestone and thank you for all you do for our community!

🚒 What a great way to wrap up the Farmers Market season!

Our Fire Department enjoyed spending time at the farmers market this season, whether we were there for breakfast, touch-a-truck, or to share important fire safety information with more than 100 school-aged children and families.

We loved connecting with our community, answering questions, and helping kids learn how to stay safe this school year.

And yes... we may have had just as much fun visiting the petting zoo! 🐐❤️

On September 11, 2001, firefighters ran toward danger while our nation watched the unimaginable unfold.

On Thursday, September 3, our community will have the opportunity to hear firsthand from Niels Jorgensen, a 22-year veteran and retired lieutenant with the New York City Fire Department, as he shares his story of survival, service, and faith following 9/11. Hosted by Carol Limoges Roper, Building Strong Homes Podcast : Blueprints to Strengthen Your Faith & Family.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of September 11, this special evening will also honor the firefighters and police officers who continue to serve their communities today.

⏰ 5:30–7:30 p.m.
📍 Infinity Church | 412 Fairview St. Ext., Fountain Inn
🎟️ Free admission

We encourage our community to attend, listen, remember, and help honor those who answered the call then—and those who continue to answer it today!

Please join us in congratulating Chad Beam on officially graduating from the Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program!

After two years of extensive coursework, research, writing, presentations, and professional development, he has completed this prestigious leadership program through the National Fire Academy.

Even more special, he is the first member of the Fountain Inn Fire Department to earn the EFO designation — an achievement that reflects not only his dedication to the fire service, but his commitment to continued learning, leadership, and serving our community at the highest level.

We are incredibly proud to have him representing City of Fountain Inn Municipality - Government and setting the bar for those who follow.

Congratulations on this well-earned achievement!

A proud day for the Fountain Inn Fire Department!

The Fountain Inn Fire Department is honored to receive the SC Victim Assistance Network Sexual Assault Forensic Excellence (SAFE) Designation, recognizing our commitment to providing trauma-informed, survivor-centered care for victims of sexual assault.

This achievement reflects the dedication of every member of our department, all of whom completed the specialized SAFE training. The training prepares first responders to compassionately support survivors, preserve evidence, recognize signs of human trafficking and strangulation, and deliver the highest standard of care during some of life's most difficult moments.

The Fountain Inn Fire Department is now the second fire department in Greenville County and the first in Laurens County to earn this 2026 designation.

Chief Russell Alexander said, "This designation reflects the compassion and professionalism our firefighters bring to every emergency response. I am incredibly proud of our team for completing this important training and for their continued commitment to serving our community with dignity, respect, and excellence."

Congratulations to every firefighter who made this accomplishment possible and thank you to the SC Victim Assistance Network and its partners for recognizing our commitment to excellence.
