Local 1014 mourns the passing of Dolores Huerta, a true Labor Warrior, a union icon and a fearless champion for working families.
As co-founder of the United Farm Workers, Dolores helped organize a movement that gave farmworkers a powerful collective voice. She fought for fair wages, safer working conditions, dignity on the job and the fundamental right of every worker to organize. Her rallying cry, “¡Sí, se puede!” became a lasting call to action for union members everywhere.
Dolores stood shoulder to shoulder with Local 1014 and our members with strength, courage and unwavering solidarity.
On behalf of President Gillotte and the Local 1014 Executive Board, we extend our prayers and deepest condolences to her family, her union brothers and sisters, and every worker inspired by her extraordinary life.
Her fight lives on in every union hall, on every picket line and in every member who stands together for dignity, justice and a better future for working families.
Rest in power.
